I'm ok with things getting a bit heated personally as long as there's no swearing and people don't hold grudges.....perhaps that's a bit naivete of me though. I've recently been told twice now, on here, that I shouldn't be allowed around children.....pretty bad stuff....though at least that second time it specified educationally....still a bit off though. I think we all need to grow slightly more thicker skins personally.....it's far better than the alternative of turning the Internet into something akin to cable TV. I stand by what I said about you teaching history. As I understand it on a previous occasion someone (possibly you) jumped to the conclusion that a teacher were being accused of being a kiddie fiddler. Which I'm led to believe wasn't the case. There's a sense in which this is true of course......much as we can say that parliament voting itself out of relevance is an exercise in parliamentary sovereignty......The EU being a gravy train for a lot of them of course. As for Greg Dyke......lets just say....I don't think very highly of the guy's politics.

Exactly which is why the country was offered a referendum in the first place. The only times we have been offered a vote is when parliament and the major parties are split on an issue. If parliament is now going to ignore the will of the people then they should never have agreed to a referendum in the first place. Parliament is split because as you say many MPs are Remianers whilst their constituents are Leavers.

I'm not gonna sully these boards by banging about it only being advisory. The tories clearly said that they'd act on the result. But in the final analysis our sovereign parliament is the highest authority in the land and if you want to oppose that then actually you are opposing our sovereignty.

I'm not slurring you. I'm sure you are / were a very good teacher. But if you were teaching children about Britain's historical role in for example the partition of Ireland, I'd have some concerns that you wouldn't paint a appropriately balanced picture. Of course I might be wrong (remember that bit?) But they're my concerns nonetheless.

Well, to be frank, without any evidence you shouldn't really be casting aspersions about people's professional lives. History was not my topic area but on the rare occasions I did cover for it I wasn't interested in pursuing ideology, my own nor anybody else's. I'm very much against teachers like that. Students should be taught how to think critically, not what to think.
