Reliability isn't the only reason that people buy a particular make for as comfort, handling and general driving appeal counts for a lot with many people.

I have been driving German cars for the last ten years and have never had a problem

The point being Alot of people like the brand, some might switch between a merc or audi but they wouldn't switch to Toyota

If they levied tarrifs the government would have to subsidise it somehow?

Who voted to pay more for a new car?

I believe that if we decide to go for a no deal Brexit the German car manufacturers will put pressure on the German government to sort out a trade deal with us pronto

Sure they will. Except the Germans aren't allowed to do a trade deal with us. They need the agreement of all 20+ EU members. And every member can veto it - Gibraltar, GFA etc etc.

The UK buys less than 3% of the world's cars. I'm at a loss to understand why people think this is a big number.

Are you an educated person masquerading as a troll as you seem to misunderstand almost everything that anyone else posts.

Quite possibly the UK does only buy 3% of the world's cars but we were talking specifically about German cars and we buy a significant enough proportion of them to hurt them financially if they are priced out of our market.

I am well aware that Germany is only one of many nations in the EU but the German government have considerably more power within the organisation than Malta does.

Are you an uneducated person masqucaurading as Nigel Farage. Very sad having to pull the troll card seems more and more common on here these days

Do you really still believe the German Automotive industry will deliver your Brexit Unicorn. The German car industry warned the UK over a year ago not to rely them for help in securing Brexit deal.

But we only hurt ourselves just as much if not more, how many peoples jobs in supply chain, at dealerships etc could be at risk? What about mini? They own that which employs thousands here. All of a sudden the 'they need us more than we need them' argument falls apart

You mean German Government should listen to warnings from their car makers over Brexit? Like the UK Government is listening to the daily warnings issued by UK car makers over Brexit? Tell me which country stands to lose more. Germany losing UK market, or UK losing the whole EU?

Unfortunately more and more people seem to be trolling nowadays and I wonder if someone else who produces a Tweet by a parliamentary sketch writer and satirical journalist as evidence should be added to the list

Well she would appear to have been listening to little old Dublin regarding our transition agreement. So yes.

But then you calling her fuhrer says more than anything I could ever hope to say. Kind of disrespectful to tar her with the same brush as someone who sent millions to the gas chamber and started a world war in which x scrillion died.

Clearly you aren't too bright.
