Whereas my view is Momentum and chums view the 15% of society at the lowest levels as their mission in life and as a result ignore the needs and desires of the 85% that make most of the contributions to our society.

Surely there's a theory that to increase living standards generally you would better those at the bottom rung and help the most vulnerable of society, end homelessness

Another day another commons defeat for Mrs May. I must be looking through the wrong end of the telescope. The consensus is that this has seriously weakened Mrs May's position with the EU and that there is no point in them offering her a compromise as she can't get it through parliament. Obviously a defeat is never going to be good but here I differ with the consensus I think she can use the defeat to her advantage. The ERG did not support her because they felt she took the "no deal" of the table. She should tell the EU the only way she can get this deal through is with a proper backstop solution rather than comforting but meaningless words. And if I was the EU that's how I would look at this "we have to give the PM something solid to convince the ERG". As I said at the start I appear to be looking at this rather differently that the experts.

According to the BBC:- Quote Millennium & Copthorne Hotels has blamed a shortage of workers due to Brexit uncertainty for contributing to falling profits.
The hotel chain reported a 28% fall in pre-tax profits to £106m for the 12 months to 31 December 2018, compared with the same period in 2017. It said Brexit concerns had affected its UK hotels, particularly in London. The hotel chain also blamed the US-China trade war, minimum wage and competition from Airbnb for its woes. For the fourth quarter of 2018, pre-tax profits dropped 76% to £7m. The hotel group seems to be blaming almost everything for it's fall in profits including Brexit as it's struggling to attract overseas workers who are willing to work for peanuts In particular, revenue per available room in London dropped 7.4%, partly due to the closure of its Mayfair hotel for refurbishment. "Concerns about Brexit have affected the Group's UK hotels especially in London, where the hotels started to face difficulties in recruiting EU workers which currently comprise more than half of the London workforce," it said in a statement. The hotel chain also said that it had been affected by the increase in the minimum wage, which came into force last year.

Well I think we have to believe them so lets reduce the minimum wage, after all they are only looking out for the rest of us unlike us selfless Brexiteers.
