It will make the next General Election very interesting

Or is it a case of democracy only when it suits?

That was an indicative vote not a law but I have no doubt that the establishment will rush it through both houses.

Funny that they takes months to pass the law to leave the EU with it bouncing between both houses and legal challanges. However when "they" want something it will take a couple of days.

Now having said all that his latest stunt means nothing. If Mrs May doesn't have the votes she wasn't going to go for a 3rd vote anyway. If she believes she has the votes then there are parliamentary procedures that can use to force the speaker to hold a vote.

Is there a procedure that can enforce the speaker to hold a vote, unless May changes it substantially?

Andrea Jenkyns is right you reap what you sow. If parliament betrays the people then I expect there will be a rise in support for the nasty parties. MPs will wring their hands and moan about extremism yet they will be responsible for pushing people towards that road.

It's a good day for both hard left and far right they know that this will swell their numbers as the anti establishment bandwagon starts to pick up momentum (no pun intended).

If moderate politicians cannot find moderate solutions to problems then the people will turn to the extremists.

Funny, but by that logic the referendum result was not binding also and does not stand either......

So if we run down the clock and leave with no deal that's undemocratic?

The only conclusion to draw from all this mess is that those who never wanted Brexit in the first place are trying to use the Parliamentary system to stop it.

All else is spin.

Every politician who has voted to stop Brexit should be removed from their seat at the next election just for starters. I would say that it is nearly time for the British public to show how they feel with industrial action and demonstrations on a large scale.

When you say parliamentary system you mean democracy?
