I wonder what the red line is for Brexiters to not vote for Farage's party? They have few, if any, other policies so what policy would they have to have for Brexiters not to vote for them. Presumably most of them would be ex Labour or Tory voters.

Not strictly true the EU report acknowledged that the US had good food standards but that chlorine "might" be used to compensate for lax hygiene standards. In other words the EU is using this as an excuse to protect it's own farmers but just didn't want to say that. My own feeling is that people should be allowed choice as long as there is proper labelling which currently there isn't. I would like to know how an animal was slaughtered or if a ready meal contains GM or the chicken was chlorinated.

KFC is not actually too bad if you look at their welfare standards, but still not free range - which is the best they can do as its not reallly a practical solution for a corporate behemoth. People moan about £10+ burgers and expensive ‘posh’ fried chicken but in most cases there is a reason for it - the meat is more ethically sourced and far better quality. You might also be wise to check the FSR of the establishments you clearly frequent on a regular basis - as well as a dose of elephant leg you’re probably getting some rodent DNA thrown in for good measure. It’s obviously in their interests but there has to be a reason why the US do it and we don’t other than ‘it’s a different way to achieve the same result’. US is far more lax in general than UK standards. Agree on choice, clear labelling and traceability. Essential
