My wife is a nurse and it's exactly the same in nursing. The media complain that it's the low wages but that's not true as everyone entering the professions knows exactly what they will get paid.

It's the poor management and treatment of staff as assets rather than people that causes nurses to leave.

After 10 years in one hospital my wife left as she was sick of the annual arguments about holidays as despite being entitled to seven weeks holiday a year the ward manager wanted her to take them one week at a time and never during the school holidays.

She moved to another hospital where they are somewhat more enlightened over holidays but the management is poor in other areas

Border Force have always had a leave restrictions especially over summer and Christmas, this year they had a leave BAN in early spring because of Brexit!
I am glad to have got out but unfortunately my wife is still there. I can only sympathise with your wife as her situation mirrors those in Border Force

The UK will be getting none of the money that it pays into May's exit deal back. We do rightly owe it so should pay, but if the EU wont give us a deal there will be no mechanism for us to pay so they'd have to claim it from us.

That's true but these returns have been set from the start and applied for by the benefitees and decided by the EU.
Where and how will they apply to after Brexit.

I'm finding it increasingly unbelievable that there are any significant numbers of remainers left. I voted out but had never realized quite how bad things were getting until the current focus on the going's on.

If anyone thinks this somehow represents some kind of socialist, peace loving paradise then they are just completely deluded and can't be following what's going on.

The EU is clearly both increasingly authoritarian, institutionally and ideologically anti-democratic and represents the global interests of massive corporations - and that's about it. We should all be chewing our own arms off to get out of this s***.

There at it again.

Sir Alan Duncan has resigned as he can't work with Boris. Fair enough nothing unremarkable about that. However he lost the plot when he tried to call for a motion of no confidence in a Boris government.

Even arch Remainer Bercow could see that is just plain stupid and shut it down. A no confidence motion in a leader that hasn't been selected and a government that hasn't been formed.

Expect another attempt later in the week.

We need more hipsters for the sake of the banter. I actually have a beard and I'm sure I can dig out a waistcoat. I don't like soya milk but oat milk is quite nice.

I sure hope not for your sake, Stirley.

Its going to be pretty f***ing dull around here listening to Hrolf and Chris GC's bizarre views on the football team, rammed down the throats of an unsuspecting support base not used to totalitarian dictators.

Just reading the last few pages here and the lack of intelligence and understanding is unbelievable really.

Conflating the issues many mention here with being members of the EU is the victory that Farage has won over an uninformed populace.

Farage has conned you, with the help of many.

He has made you believe, as some other leaders have before, that your problems and issues have 1 root source. If you really start to buy into Farage and his con then you would be forgiven for thinking that once we leave the EU everyone will get 100k in their bank accounts and the streets will be paved with gold before the next morning.

Wake the f*** up.

If people think that the hospitals in the UK will be BETTER once the UK leaves the EU and loses out on countless resources, expertise and drugs, I have a time share in Tenerife you might be interested in.

As with many things in life the Brexiteer will not see the error of his/her ways until it is too late, but at this stage I sincerely hope a no deal brexit comes to pass, as it might finally knock some sense into the hollow brains of England.

A lot of posters got bored into submission by the handful of posters who dominate every thread and don't seem to have anything better to do with their lives.
