Not really

BoJo still has May's deal available to him, if push comes to shove he simply re-heats it a bit with some added turmeric, nobody will notice it isn't freshly prepared.

WE ARE with you

The wishes of the people are expressed through their Parliament who are chosen to represent them. All of them. Not just a few thousand blue rinse Tories. Not even those who turn up to vote in a referendum or at a GE. All of them. Especially, by the way, those too young to vote. That's why we choose representatives and not delegates as MPs.

I have no interest, and nor should you, in the "wishes of his people".

Our democracy is vested in our MPs and our Parliament and not in the result of a 3 year old referendum, the issues of which which was barely understood at the time but are much better, though still imperfectly, by the average voter.

Parliament will not let this pass, of that I am quite certain.

That is truly beautiful.

And they have plenty of time to change this. I for one cannot wait for JC to announce a vote of no confidence and bring down Johnson's government.

I think parliament, and the monarchy, is on its last legs here.

I think there should be another referendum. The leave campaign leaflet I received during the last referendum said there was very little chance of leaving the Eu without a trade deal as Europe would be bending over backwards to give us a trade deal. If people had known then we would be leaving without a trade deal I think the result of the referendum would have been quite different

A once not unlikely scenario, but that ship has well and truly sailed. Out of all of the possible twists and turns over the next couple of months I find it very hard to imagine a second referendum getting a look in.

So, what exactly was it for you? BTW, I'm not accusing you or any Brexiteer of racism. I see the benefits of of both in and out, but, imo, taking back control to me doesn't seem like a valid argument.

What will we be in control of?
Will Boris or whoever the new PM is offer a more democratic, inclusive approach to the way our country is governed?

Our Economy will tank in the next year or so, but not because we left the EU, it will tank because the actual politicians we are entrusting to deliver Brexit are the actual people that have already destroyed this economy.

To be honest, and no offense, but I'm a bit tired justifying why I voted the way I did. I made considerable contributions to this thread in the lead up and aftermath of the vote (the point at which a all contracted super-gonorrhea, entered recession, lost 10% on house values, lost 500,000 jobs, had a punishment budget forced on us....).

You're welcome to go hunt for my posts on here about the EU. There's plenty of them, and they are long.

I just don't see the value in engaging with these "why did you vote Brexit" arguments any more. Those arguments were won over 3 years ago.

Correct.

I don't believe that comment comes from JRM. The Queen is politically neutral and follows precedent. Her decision does not endorse Brexit but is based on advice from her PM.

JRM knows that and whenever I hear him interviewed he always chooses his words carefully.

If he did tweet those words then he should be in big trouble and at the minimum should make a public apology for dragging the monarchy into party politics.

Like I say I don't believe he's done that.

Update: Just looked at that tweet again. Its a site set up by JRM supporters and "independent" of him. So he didn't say it whoever did though is just plain wrong.

No, he didn't tweet it. He's been busy meeting the Queen. Here's what he did have to say about the meeting: (A PeoplesProrogue hashtag - that's the best today!)
