The "Letwin" amendment wasnt his idea.

He was just the stool pigeon.
It was the multi millionaire "Lord" Pannicks QC. amendment.

That was totally denied by Letwin himself this morning on the Marr show in a fashion that carried total conviction. Lord Pannick assisted with the legal drafting, being an eminent QC. Making sure it is legally watertight makes sense so as no backbencher has access to government lawyers using a QC in the Lords makes perfect sense.

The Speaker is just the Speaker. He has rules and conventions to follow. That he defends Parliament's rights against a government trying to railroad it's plans through is exactly what ANY Speaker would do. Unless he is, of course, a stool pigeon of the government.

Bercow is a right wing conservative who became more considered with maturity.

He is just like a referee or umpire, were it not for him parliament would not be the same, just an order processor for the government's business.

When I watch him I get annoyed if he finds against my perspective, just like anybody, but I don't hold that against him.

He is bound to commit a howler sometimes, but very very rarely.

More Wissy Bollox. John Bercow is as unbiased as he is shy and introverted

It's funny how certain people think that bercow is just a speaker up holding the rules.

He has shown himself to be a full on "remoaner",and doing whatever he can to deny the will of 17.4 million people.

Or did he go to Brussels just for a box of Belgium chocolates and a glass of beer.

David Lammy and all the others that went to Brussels the other day...funded by Soros...what a surprise..not..

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

Yet if it was about his 2k on expenses scandal of a few years ago...you wouldn't believe a word.

True colours coming out me thinks.

It was more than that. The £2,000 was just to repair a leaking pipe under his tennis court

No just a stool pigeon for the Brexit blockers, actually no, part of the blockers. The guy is an utter disgrace to democracy.

Bring back Brolin

I rather think it is you whose bias is obvious.

Even Rees Mogg sang his praises last week!

That he has gained attention as Speaker is both down to his personality and the attempts by this government to sideline Parliament. He needs to be strong and I hope his successor is as well.

Did you see his interview? If not watch it before you judge. I thought him sincere and honest. Truth always has a ring to it. Which is why a bell is rarely heard these days from government spokesmen.

Explaining the role of Parliament to those who might not fully understand it is vital at a critical time like this. That the government negotiates is the law. That others explain is their duty.

How on earth you think that Soros might be involved made me actually laugh. Is there no limit to the depth of ridiculousness that these conspiracy theories can sink to? And some people don't think that social media is having any impact!

Garbage. The guy is a bastion against the creep of a government determined to ignore the will of our sovereign Parliament.

He will ultimately be hailed as a hero and have his own statue on Parliament square.
