I would have thought that all of the Londoners moving there would have meant higher house prices for the locals but what would I know. Last I went they were charging me tourist prices of over a fiver a pint - I think 5.60. So in many ways I hope the miserable tossers have been priced out.

I honestly don't think she has given it a moments thought. The truth is though that continental tourism[ was quite badly impacted here last year and that will only be worse this. With British people also now being more cautious (just look at Christmas sales) the immediate outlook isn't good. I think the mid to long term looks even worse but I have little doubt your blind optimism won't agree. Oh, of course, in any case that's not the point is it? It's "taking back control"! Of what though?
