It's done .. get on with it. I just hope I don't have long queues trying to get through passport control coming home to Switzerland.

Mr Apollo you make a significant contribution to this site which is appreciated by many including myself.

Might I gently point out that Switzerland is not in the EU and as such controls it's own borders although it has a special arrangement with the EU. If passport control becomes an inconvenience for the UK citizen then that is the decision of the Swiss government.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words, but at the moment there are two passport lines, Swiss and EU citizens and the rest of the world which is always very slow.

My point being was that maybe the Brexit thread should become the post Brexit thread, and I tried to add some humour to it.

If anyone is looking for a tune pleae don't hesitate to ping me on the mp3 thread, fastracked for UK citizens....

I think you have a point maybe the Mods should close that and tell us to use this one. just now I thought I heard a politician say that we have done a deal with the Swiss over passports so this may go away.

Has travel already changed for UK citizens or is that all to be worked out in whatever deal is done?

Nothing should change until the end of the year. After which the EU has said that UK citizens will be required to obtain a visa which will last for 2 years and is valid for any EU country. It will be electronic like an ESTA and probably cost about £10 it is a short term visa. However this may get negotiated away ? I am not sure what the UK equivalent will be.

The idea that I regard myself as a "victim" is plainly ridiculous. I can leave anytime I choose and return if I wish to. Indeed in the coming months there is likely to be an extended period when comments from me dry up. Somehow I don't anticipate being missed but don't cheer too loudly if and when this happens. I will be back.

The only reason I appear to post a lot is that I quite often get several responses to my comments and these can spark a response from me. I tend to reply to each rather than in one general response.

There are many bigots on this site. Just not everybody is one. Always your choice on whether you wish to answer anything I write as is your opinion of my opinions or of me. It is of no consequence to me at all.

Brexit is happening whether you like it or not...I said loser because that is what you are....remain 48% Leave 52% so remain LOST!! Maths not your strong point is it?? 48 is smaller than 52 in most peoples world, not in truro apparently....Think you should realise that a football forum isnt the place to spout your views on politics, there are more suitable places to do this....try your Labour websites, write to Jeremy, he may be interested,..Goodbye loser!

PS sorry for being juvenile, there you are talking down to people who dont share your views...how grown up of you!

What the 2016 referendum meant depends on your own perspective.

As a referendum can mean many things to many people in many different circumstances it's probably easier to say what it cannot be in our representative Parliamentary democracy. It cannot be binding. Only Parliament makes law. Not governments and not referendums.

The fact that the result was so close, but that the then government "promised" to respect it (a promise they had no right to make because the implementation was not in their hands), created a mountain of problems.

No-one "won" or "lost" the referendum because nothing depended on it. Some politicians decided to accept it, others didn't but the responsibility and power of act always lay in their hands. The fact that there was a small majority in favour of leaving mattered more to some, whilst the way it was done, the lying, propaganda and Russian interference mattered more.

Parliament had the opportunity to take another course but only did not because of Corbyn failing to put the national interest before personal ambition.

So we are we we are.

I don't talk down to anyone. I just say it as it is.

This is total bs. I worked with a chap who was Ghanaian, a competitive body builder, so not to be argued with. I was mentoring him when someone called him "that coloured man". He got angry, not because of the comment but because he classed himself as black not coloured. His actual words were "I am a black man".
Would you criticise him? You really do talk b****cks at times

Yes I would criticise his views but not him because they are held by almost everyone. I realise I am probably a pioneer.

The fact that these are commonly used descriptions doesn't mean they are wise.

The fact that anyone has a black, or white, skin says absolutely nothing at all about them as people. It is a meaningless description which groups people into irrelevant tribes. There are just more accurate ways to group people and we need to start to use them as the current way is making things worse and not better.
