So which do you trust. 'It has been estimated' in the Independent with no further data in an 'opinion piece'. Or analysis specifically performed for the LSE by Opinium? You are usually so good at reading around the topic, why not in this case?

As the days go by, I am getting a bit more optimistic that we will be able to salvage the situation, re-negotiate a better deal and remain. Even most of the Tories are starting to panic, quite rightly, about the implications of triggering Clause 50. Hopefully they wont be daft enough to have another referendum this time though.

Jeremy Hunt suggested a second referendum when the terms of exit are thrashed out, just in case anyone thinks it might be better remaining. Although he didn't run for leader in the end, it might be an idea that gains support if the terms seem unfavourable.

All I am doing is reporting the information in the 'Independent' which is at variance with the data reported elsewhere in this thread. In actual fact, the other day on TV I heard someone say that only 40% of 18-24 voted in the referendum.Certainly differences !
What was voter turnout across age groups? Update: 26/6: Social media is passing round a stat that only 36 per cent of 18-24 year olds voted. Edited by Willo (03 Jul 2016 10.49pm)

So an unattributed comment gets credence throughout the Press a week ago and nobody checks the facts. Then a factual piece comes out and, because it wasn't the first comment on the issue, it is written off. Despite being the only proper investigation of the issue. You have to ask why the original 'estimate' was ever given the status of 'fact'. In whose interests was that? Then you have to ask why actual analysis continues to be ignored because of an earlier opinion. This is not aimed at you Willo, it is an observation about the media. As AshTree keeps telling me, the media hates young people. I would love to see some analysis that either proves or disproves that hypothesis. But I would like to know why you even bother repeating a stat that is 'passing around social media'. As ever on this site I want to see the original source and comments before I believe anything.
