Nothing on CETA? No one can tell me what would be so terrible about using the Canada deal as the starting point for our negotiations? Let me re-iterate the core features:

- Canada does not pay anything into the EU budget
- Canada has (depending on sector) 94-100% tariff free access to the single market (no, not membership, access)
- Canadian law is not superseded by the ECJ
- There is no freedom of movement between Canada and the EU
- Canada is the 10th largest economy by GDP.

Can someone explain to me how a country with the 5th largest world economy, a £24b+/yr trade EU deficit and 100% convergence in EU standards should not be getting at the very least the deal Canada currently has?

I'd say it depends on what reason they chose to vote leave.

I might be perturbed if it's to take are country back

So sorry people don't see the world you do...You know.

The c--ts who decided how we should live...making huge changes without asking first....they created Farage and you fecking completely deserve him.

He has certainly divided his party and all those people who have supported the 'Labour' party year on year are NOT doing so because of him and his fellow comrades.

Errrr...why are you referring to non EU stuff?....at what point were Ukip winning an election and forming a government?

You called him an 'opportunistic c-nt'. You are quite clearly referring to his success against the EU.

What's UKIP's (who have no mps but get loads of press coverage) plan for Brexit?

As a starting point? A one-size fits all solution like that is way, way too simplistic. There are just so many factors/variables from country to country that will influence relationships and deals. Personalities, positional strengths and weaknesses, public opinion, length of time to finalise a deal, hubris, etc. Don't forget, these are politicians we are talking about.

Canada won't rely on EU fruit and veg pickers, for example, to maximise productivity in that sector nor have nearly 20% of Uni Academics from EU countries as we have here [Link] so, perhaps, aspects which are convoluted for the UK/EU are much more black and white for Canada/EU

This is not the time for naive idealism. That ended with Article 50 being invoked. Hard practical solutions, please.

I don't know and it doesn't matter.

All that matters is the government's plan.

I voted for Ukip to get out of the EU. If I vote for them again it would only really be over EU related matters.

As for the press coverage. I'd say getting four million votes does deserve some....It's more than the SNP got and they get quite a lot in England.

I would say that Farage is anything but self-serving. As soon as we voted for Brexit he stepped down as his party leader as he believed his work to have been finished.

Farage, like Corbyn, are two of the very few actual conviction politicians who I would say aren’t indeed self-serving.
