Best i buy some gob-stoppers next time.

As i've stated on many occasions this has nothing to do with Brexit but everything to do with an economy that, along with the rest of the world, has continually failed to recover from the financial crisis despite printing trillions (from thin-air) coupled with historically low interest rates.
I'm trying to warn everyone of the debt bomb that's waiting to go off. You're only interested in yourself.

Keep on sucking.

Jesus wept. How many years of putting magic money directly onto City balance sheets and how much in the real world to show for it?

Oh, how we laughed at Japan's zero rates and what a mismanaged economy that was.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

You know, Dave. Someone on the further Right side of politics who likes it really, really hard re: Brexit and is also not shy in having their two pennyworth all inclusive anti Muslim-rant even before the first victims have been put into the ambulance.

Now if that is not you then I must be thinking of some other poster who has written countless diatribes on here which if presented in court they may find a little embarrassing.

As for 'terrorism' - well if the acid thrower did not do it for warped political reasons then the attack is certainly akin to it and should be treated as severely if the law would allow which was the original point if you had taken my context on board within the old grey matter. It doesn't, I know.

You know, I am glad I took a step back for a while and saw this post for what it was: a pathetic attempt at a smear-and-bait from an intellectually bankrupt nobody that I have repeatedly put down in the past.

I will continue to speak truth to idiots. And that includes highlighting the demonstrably grave dangers of political Islam (no, not "Muslims") to this country. I am not ashamed of those views (for it is through shame and guilt, not honest exchange, that you seek to crush any dissent) and would happily defend those views in court, were it required. Sadly for you, however, the days of communist show trials and Maoist Struggle Sessions under your dear leader are not in sight. Nor would I have needed to, under the legal system we operate here. My views are not on trial.

Meanwhile, pray tell me: is Mr. Mustafa Ahmed "one of mine"?

[Link]

But yeah, it's "terrorism" if you say it is "akin" to it. A bit like saying your comments are "akin" to intelligent debate, because they might share similar words.

Are you this abrasive on mumsnet?

As for the acid attack whether it is terrorism surely depends on the motive.

That'll surely be a comfort for the steelworkers who lost their jobs.

As the article concluded:

"...comes at an uncertain time with Brexit looming, and question marks over potential job moves, notably among banks, out of the capital to other cities".

From those working in the insurance sector in the City I've spoken to recently,I'd hazard banks might not be the only "notably".

It's interesting that Bremoaner language has softened from the 'definite catastrophe' that Brexit would bring to that it 'might' involve job transfers to EU countries.

Why would that be Rumpole? Possibly because all the Bremoaner harbingers of doom and their other Brexit fantasies have all proven not to happen.

British holidaymakers heading to Europe for this weekend’s big getaway are being offered what may be the worst ever foreign exchange rates at British airports – in one case, just 88 euro cents for every pound they hand over.

Bloated capitalist running-dog tourists - what about the masses that are starving with reduced life expectancy, suffering under the Tory heel?

Anyone who exchanges currency at airports are either stupid ....or stupid.

Mr Uphimself,I will leave fantasies (whether political, economic or inter-personal)firmly as your unrivalled area of masterly expertise.

You errr...I suggested no such "softening" thing ...

Brexit will indeed be a massive negative IMHO (unless ameliorated in the form of what looks increasingly likely as reality dawns on all but the extreme tunnel visioned(ie EEA membership..which is more or less the same as EU membership but without a seat at the table,so way worse still than now) or a drawn out transition until we end up never leaving....

A part of such massive negative would IMHO be reflected in a drain away from London as a global centre for insurance and banking...hence even the author your own chosen article is aware that the mid term employment picture in the City may be somewhat less than rosy.
