Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Mr Moir (Geoffrey Moir). An ex world war 2 fighter pilot with the obligatory handlebar moustache.

He was as strict as they come, but fair.

I left in 1980, but I can still remember some of the lessons and the way in which he got his message across.

A fantastic English teacher at Ashburton High School.

Apart from him, as Cucking said, they were all c*nts.

I didn't have a favourite. I hated them all. School was very uninspiring for me.

We were a great team - Surrey Cup winners a few years earlier - but your lot, Ashburton, ripped us apart. Titterton in goal and the twins whose name escapes me.

Not sure about a favourite teacher.

There was one we used to have a good laugh with over him being a Leeds Utd fan.

Certainly one I detested with a passion, and still do to this day. Came as no surprise that my parents had a run in with him at parents evening.

Names have been withheld to protect the guilty.

Had a lovely lady teacher called Van Der zee.
She had the habit of sitting on the front of the desk crossing her legs.
You'd get a glimpse of stocking top on a good day.
If that weren't bad enough, she had a thing holding a bit of chalk in her hand and nonchalantly tossing it about in a w***ing motion.
Both things together-Nightmare.

Ashburton High no doubt ?

I don't need to sell my soul...he's already in me.

Indeed.
Now re-branded the Oasis academy.
I left 75 or '76.
Pleased to see you remember the lovely V.D.Zee

Not so favourite teacher was a certain J.Barlow.
The rough stuff he reg.dished out would result in being sacked and a law suit now.

At Fairchildes, late 70's it was Mrs Hunt, science teacher and Head of Year (or Dep).
At Purley Boys, early 80's it was Mr Priestley, History.
(A worthy mention though to Mrs Botwright and her ever-so large bossoms).

Time to move forward together.

Well my favourite teachers weren't Nicky Morgan; Michael Gove; Ed Balls; Alan Johnson; Ruth Kelly etc....oh wait, they have never experienced life in the classroom! (Get the message, folks!)
