I'm glad we haven't reached the lows of the USA mind you. Where they not only invent names but also try to cram in as many needless apostrophes or unnecessary extra capital letters as possible.

I used to work with a guy in Bournemouth whose name was Wayne King. He married a girl called Leigh.
No joking - really true.

Also I used to two-time my girlfriend Lorraine with Claire Leigh. She found out and left me. It was a case of....

I can see Claire Leigh now Lorraine has gone.
Boom Tssh.

Rather something interesting then those awful f**king yuppie names that you see kicking around places like Reigate and Hampsted and the like.

If I see another Oscar or Felicity running towards their mothers Range rovers that they drive to their bikram yoga classes in Parsons Green I might just kill myself.

I like the name Oscar.......

One of my mates who now lives up in the Midlands posted up the other day that one of her FB 'friends' daughters had just named her daughter 'Karizma'.....which sounds like a 14 year old rapper from Gosport

A proper chav girl told me that she was calling her child "Rogan" the other day. I really wanted to say "most people opt for the 'Josh' part when perusing the Indian Takeaway menu for baby name ideas" but managed to hold myself back.

Hahaha..... Quality James!

I agree. Nordic countries do the same.

I've got a friend from Norway, whose name is 'Storm'.
Seems like an odd choice to be included on the list....

We did have a tacit list until Neighbours turned up and then it all got silly.

The Upper Classes stuck to their Henrys and Victorias
and us commoners were given biblical Christian names but mullets, singlets and awful songs decimated centuries old British culture.

Bet there is some bloke or lass actually called Ramsay Street out there somewhere too.

I went to college with a girl called Charisma Fowler - It seemed so oddly pointless to have what is arguably quite an exotic or interesting first name, with a surname that essentially is that of a chicken botherer.

My ex girlfriend's mum said there were kids at the school she worked at with all sorts of odd names. I can't remember whether this was one of those, or one from a separate article I read about silly names in America, but there was a girl called L-A which was meant to be pronounced "Ledasha".
