You allowed it to roam around your house and it doesn't know it is not allowed to mark it's territory indoors.

I would suggest that unless you want this to keep happening you should...

1. Get it trained by an animal behaviourist
2. Restrict it's movement around your house
3. Get it rehomed if you can't afford to or be bothered to "upgrade" your cat!

The cat will get a more rewarding life and you'll feel better towards him/her after!

Exactly Hoof. If you have the time and interest you can spend that on the cat. Personally I can think of better ways to spend my time and/or cash. If you don't, move it on quickly before its behaviours become even more ingrained. It doesn't have to be your problem. It's not a child or your mother, for whom you may have to tolerate a certain amount of incontinence.

All I would add is that if you are going to move the cat on, take it to a sanctuary where it won't be in danger of being put down, and warn them of the cat's behaviours so some unsuspecting new owner doesn't get lumbered and is aware of what they're taking on.

If you are dissatisfied with the feline services you are receiving, the best thing to do is change supplier. I recommend you find a supplier that comes recommended, with previous history of excellent and reliable supply and outstanding cleanliness.

One alternative is to change altogether to a supplier of lapine services which, to many, is a superior option. Please note that such suppliers do not come with an audible interface.

Yet another case of someone getting a cat thinking cat ownership is just a matter of providing it with a bed, food and water. It isn`t.
I have had cats almost all my adult life and the only problem encountered was with one that had an intestinal condition that resulted in the odd accident.
Proper care also involves a measure of interaction with the animal, just like dog ownership does, but many people don`t understand this.
Your cat can be made to become a worthwhile pet no matter what its behaviour is like now. Go on you tube and search for Jackson Galaxy, a renown cat expert. The solution to virtually any cat behaviour problem can be found among his stuff there.

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]

Good job that picture isn't of a cat in a Palace shirt. You might not get the opinion you were hoping for and end up flouncing.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.
