Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport driving and innovation. I know who the best drivers are, as I know more about the sport and the feeder formulae where they may have raced in cars with the same specs.

Boring is reading comments from someone who clearly doesn't have a clue about it.

In fairness, finding something desperately boring or not is not dependent on expertise.
But to enjoy such a closed shop, niche sport like F1, one clearly needs to be a bit of an anorak for such things.

I believe that for the majority, it is as dull as f*** and SKY spend far too much air time on it at great expense to it's customers no doubt.

Such a closed shop that a brand new team is currently 5th in both the driver's and constructor's championship, despite only one of it's cars finishing both races?

For a football fan to bemoan how much of Sky's budget, or "customer' s money", is spent on F1 is laughable.

agree with that.

less is more for me ,I only watch MOTD off the TiVo box at my leisure on a sunday , might watch MOTD2 sunday night . I don't have sky sports so don't watch the champions league or the prem unless I'm in the pub , I go to a game nearly every weekend so watching a non palace game on the tv bores me .

I think if I did watch football on the tv as much as some people I know I would get bored with the game

I meant a closed shop in the sense that only a tiny select group of people can take part. A new team hardly makes it a mass participation sport.
Yes SKY spends lots on football but football is the national game and watched and played by millions.

Painfully condescending Mr Hoof.

Can't two adults indulge in debate anymore?

Well you can't have an unlimited number of cars can you. And I'd bet you would underestimate just how many people have driven in F1 anyway.

I'll bet you more people drive in the UK than play football

As for costs, you're comparing an outlay of circa £100-150m per season against £1.39bn.

Those were the days. Good shout.

Ha ha. Good one.

Your argument is a reasonable one but that does not change the fact that F1 is insufferably dull and elitist. Now Indycar is far more exciting as far as car racing goes.

I don't mind Indycar but I don't agree. It's home to either drivers from the Americas or failed F1 drivers.

The road courses are alright, the ovals aren't.
