These 'little battles' have been happening in the UK for many hundreds of years.

The councillor should be kicked out of the Labour party and prosecuted if she has broken the law. The same would go for anyone that has acted this way in any party.

It's obvious why that one woman would take such a vile stance. More generally I'd say the left support Palestine as the weaker entity. However there's still plenty of sympathy directed towards oppressed groups turning to terror, but quite selectively. The official British line in 1948 was quite confused and I can't speculate on what liberal views may have dictated around that time, but I'd hope they were as partisan as they are at present. To be fair I can't say how much of this venom is directed at individuals in the UK, I'd hope none, but I've not seen this many boycotts since the Apartheid era and I while on the wrong side of the river today I walked past a Jewish community centre which had 3 security guards. Maybe it's just a lefty trend like supporting St Pauli or Dulwich Hamlet. I mean how would one actually 'Free Palestine?'. I suppose the litmus test would be whether the left would support a movement which resulted in Israeli (read Jewish, because this could affect all citizens not just those acting or fighting on behalf of the government) bloodshed. Both have systematically tried to wipe out a people to further their own ambitions. We quite rightly condemn one as a byword for evil and yet sympathise and defend the other simply because one was the victim of the other at a point in history. Understandable? Perhaps. But the Jewish status as victim cannot be allowed to justify all the crimes of Israel or any one who happens to be Jewish.
