But.... i wonder what other yearly stadium improvements there will be??

Friend just reminded me we have to sort out the disabled seating we don't need the rules for that.

Managed to get away with it before due to these plans for stand will add it but with that not going ahead I don't see how they can keep dodging it without punishment.

Agree, let’s abandon Selhurst and move elsewhere, we must be able to find some rich potential owners that want a premier league team in their town (Wimbledon did). We could become the Wakefield Eagles.

If someone could find some suitable land...

I think that only big big money will allow that possibility.

The only options are the Purley Way or outside of the M25. Anything that’ll have no train stations nearby or any human life with pubs or fast food outlets. The club would have tonsort its refreshments service and probably could withmore profit per hour and employee.

Always preferred the idea of extending the holmesdale down the main stand side. Would have been a lot cheaper. Seriously can't see us getting a new stand/ stadium with current owners.

Isn't that roughly what the plans are

The original plan when the Holmesdale was built was for a mini "old Trafford" with 42,000 capacity; all four stands the same & the corners filled in. If my memory serves me right Labour allowed the flats on the corner to have a veto over the planned redevelopment at some council election & then the main stand got blocked & would have only been allowed to be built smaller than originally planned so progress stopped.

The project of turning Selhurst, into a modern ,better capacity stadium . Has always fallen foul of various Croydon, councils. It’s been going on for years. Why ? Has always been a bit of a mystery.
Until Croydon, realise what an asset a Premier football club can be to any particular location , things will not change. Towns, and city’s up and down the country are only to aware of what a successful club can bring to their locations. And help their clubs at every opportunity . The City of Brighton, recently put out a load of stuff expressing what an asset , not just financial but in so many ways the football club was to the City.
Croydon, just don’t get it, never have.

In Croydon council's defence they refused residential planning permission when the ground was owned by the bank prior to CPFC2010's acquisition - which saved us from the major house developers taking an interest.

Also, our history & club culture are more than just "Croydon" - we aren't Croydon FC, our roots are the workers from the original Crystal Palace - technically in Bromley. We market ourselves as "SLaP" not "Croydon & Proud".

To compare Croydon council's appreciation of the team to Brighton's is unfair IMHO.

(also massively disingenuous to Brighton council, who royalled fcuked Albion for over a decade).

In addition to DC's comments, the council approved the plans and we knew full well, as part of that consent, that we were going to have to contribute to required infrastructure improvements as a result of the increased capacity. Now the US investors have cooled on the whole Palace project, Parish is using a supposed 'problem' with those requirements to put the whole thing quietly to bed. If you want to blame anyone for the lack of progress start with Mr Smoke and Mirrors, not the council.

Planning permission with huge strings , is not a straight forward permission. And from the clubs point of view could only ever have been dealt with after the full terms of the permission were known.
Regarding DCs thinking our roots are not in Croydon, I would differ ,as we have been in Selhurst, for over a century. Before t1923 the Nest by Selhurst station , . We are Croydon , in all but name, and everyone who has lived long enough knows it.
