The Anfield Expansion (as anyone can see when they go there) is based on buying up properties and leaving them derelict, blighting the area and ruining the property value so that no one except Liverpool wants to buy them. I am not suggesting we deliberately do that or that Liverpool has deliberately done that however with all the money floating around would that not be a realistic answer - offer those people whose light is taken etc a stupid amount of money to move, buy the property and then sell it once the planning is approved - probably at the same price at what we paid for it by the way. I sometimes wonder if Croydon Council actually realise what an asset Crystal Palace is to the borough now we are in the Premier League - what the effect could be of a brand new shiny stadium on the surrounding area, that if it was managed correctly how it could benefit the local community - make the stadium multi use so that it is used in some way 7 days a week not just once a fortnight for 9 months of the year - all possible - it just needs planned correctly. I started working in Azerbaijan nearly 19 years ago. The population here only knew Manchester United and Bobby Charlton back then. 6 months ago I am in a restaurant talking to a friend about football, mentioned Crystal Palace and the waiter serving us said "Crystal Palace? Good team" So okay , he doesn't know much about football, however he had heard of us. So.......why wouldn't Croydon Council want to see a Premier League club with Worldwide Appeal have a fabulous new stadium that could even be part of a fantastic re development of Thornton Heath. What else does Croydon have except East Croydon Station (and its quick access to London and Gatwick) that is of any real value to Croydon? yeah but those Liverpool properties prob only cost a couple of hundred quid each all out.

I thought the re development was complete when the super hand dryers were installed in the Lower Holmesdale.The leaking Cistern can wait until we are fully established in the Epl.

In a perfect world, Crystal Palace should return to its birthplace. Guess what, the world isn't perfect. Far from it. There is absolutely no way in the world that the political powers that be would allow even the modest 25,000 seat proposal made a few years ago to happen. Bromley Council have decreed it. All efforts should go into redeveloping Selhurst Park into a facility that can handle the future of CPFC. A 35,000 to 40,000 all seated ground is the need at this moment. It should have all the modern amenities while still maintaining the special atmosphere of the Premier League's most colorful venue. There needs to be a brand new Main Stand and a totally rebuilt Arthur Wait. The Whitehorse/Advertiser Stand needs a bit of a re-model while the Holmesdale could use some upgrading. Moving is not the answer, it is completely unrealistic. The political will necessary for such an action doesn't exist, in fact, the opposite is true, The local residents have banded together to fight any "incursion" into their neighborhood and they are a powerful lobby at Bromley Council. CPFC does have some sway at Croydon Council. Supporters need to become politically savvy just as the Charlton supporters did when they formed the Valley Party and forced Woolwich Council to heed them. The very thought of an Eagles Party or Selhurst Party would be enough to force the Croydon lot to get it together. There's nothing more motivating to an elected official than a viable challenge to their position. Palace supporters who live in the London Borough of Croydon need to think very carefully about this. It could be the single most important contribution to be made in support of the Red and Blue.

I was talking to someone recently who said the Holmesdale Stand was built 18 metres higher than planned which infuriated Croydon Council at the time and probably hasn't helped our cause with future applications. Thank you Ron Noades. t***. And thanks for overseeing a stand which was so badly constructed that is has a totally unusable level because it floods.

And thanks for overseeing a stand which was so badly constructed that is has a totally unusable level because it floods. ..plans would have been kept in place by the council so find it hard to believe that the height would have been allowed whilst in construction, it's not as if the building was put up overnight and Mr Noades would not be responsible for the swimming pool in the basement, that would be down to the builders....and the clubs they supported.

I find the lack of apparent progress just as frustrating as everybody else, however I trust Steve Parish & co to do the best for the club and the fans, so if it all has to be done behind closed doors and with no announcements until it's finalised then so be it... Starting a 'Selhurst Faithful' political party is a stonking idea though, Willo would get my vote if I had one (he needs something to do in retirement!)...
