Midlands Eagle, I have to say I've loved your work on Willo/Trolley today. Beautiful!

Back to the topic for a mo though....

Andy Gray. So many memories! First game of season away at QPR in the terrace along the pitch, after we were promoted. We just bought him back from them (QPR). Him and Wrighty sitting on the bonnet of a BMW in the programme every.week! Him and Geoff just being an absolute force in the middle. The header in front of me at the Holte End. The free-kick against Man City, last game of the season. 2-2. I was in the Arthur terrace and it took that long to hit the net, I had time to think that if that doesn't go in, it's gonna f***ing hurt whoever it hits behind the goal! Looking down from the Holmesdale as he's standing over that little s*** Wise, with fist clenched. Smash him, please!

I was 18 years old in 1990. From '88 'til '92, were the best years of my life, and my Palace life. Andy Gray, like the rest of the club in them years, was a massive part of it!

We all now have a lot of affection for Andy which is ironic because in 1988 when he played for Villa at Selhurst - he had left us on bad terms - i have never before or since heard a player get such vitriolic abuse for the whole game from so many Palace fans as that. It was really full-on.

I haven't read all the remarks about Andy but he was the only player I'd use the word awesome, similar to Bryan Robson, he'd tackle or stop you, in my opp onion a palace legend. I've always supported below the radar but did go on a tour of the changing rooms once and I'm sure the guy showing us round was Pat, he said this is where Andy sleeps pre match - apologies if this has been mentioned.

Dulwich - Crystal Palace - Upper Tulse Hill - Streatham - Norbury - Castlewellan = Always Palace

One of my all time heroes.Always remember a story told by Ian Wright I think it was.The opposition had a corner and everyone was concentrating on who they was marking and there's Andy Gray trying to sell a tracksuit to one of their players!! Quality.

Who else remembers those two cracking goals from out wide against Pompey? Weird things they were and after the game he said he'd been working on them in training.

Didn't Andy start out wide for us bit really find his feet when moved central? Also, was he a youth player and work his way up? I see from the article we had him as a kid but for some reason I thought we signed him from a non league side. Do I have that wrong?

Believe he got booed fo sulking his way out after Wright went. Sad days.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.
