Fairest way for tickets?

I go to watch a game of football, not have a chat with my mates! That's what I said before the semi final, end the day if I get a ticket then I'm there to watch the football.

Same as the semi for me personally. I was able to get a ticket at phase two, cos of my points. Only problem is my dad is a gold member but only has 650 points, so will be struggling unless he pulls some strings. Would love to go with him like I did in 1990 aged 11, but after queuing round the car park for replay tickets in 1990 the git sent me on the school camp I was booked for and went with mother instead. 26 years on, I may be the one that goes and he doesn't. Don't know whether to laugh or cry....

Same as the semis, I would think if you was in the first 3 phases you should get a ticket.

Camp outside the stadium, then queue round it twice, get pissed, play football in Sainsburys car park.... At least that's how we did it in 1990!

Don't know whether to laugh or cry.... The fact that everyone who wanted a ticket in Phase 1, 2 and 3 is the reason why I don't think all these subdivisions are nessarrary. To have 2,500points you'd need a season ticket for 5 seasons, there can only be about 8,000 people with that many, so they'll all get a ticket anyway.

Thats what happened in the Semi, Pick your block, they then give you a row, if you dont like it delete it from your basket and try again a little while later for a better row or choose a different block. We had a few mates in other blocks closeby and we all stood together Sunday. Probably why we had a few empty seats here and there.

I think anyone who still has their ticket for the last final and last replay should have first dibs. Then anyone who had to sit through all those years under managers like Alan Mullery when we had players like Mikey Droy and Trevor Aylott serving up tripe week after week followed by season ticket holders from the Trevor Francis era.

In 1990 I'm sure you could buy more than 1 ticket per person. As a season ticket holder for 31 years I'd love to be able to take my wife and daughter but sadly that's an impossibility under the loyalty points system (which incidentally only counts 'loyalty' as being since 2013 when we came up the the prem - as orpington says, doesn't reward those who were here in the mid-80s).

Without interviewing every fan, I believe that whatever system is used there will always be people who should go but cant.The season ticket holders obviously should come first. After that it becomes a bit murky.It is generally agreed that away fans that live near Selhurst become members only to go to see their club.This would explain why so many tickets were left after even after new members.Those fans could take up our allocation.Perhaps the fairer way would be to let season ticket holders have 2 tickets and trust them to let the most deserving fans that they know to go.

Wouldn't be enough tickets to let every season ticket holder have 2, that's the problem and why whatever method they use some people are going to be disappointed

I wasn't born until 1987 so maybe by 3,000+ loyalty points should only be worth half as much so those who were around in the 80s can take their family? The loyalty points system has been in place in its current format for the whole season and in similar ones for the last couple. Every game with limited tickets has been sold on a tiered basis according to loyalty points. Everyone knows this and it would be much more unfair to change the system just for the cup final.
