Great shot of the white horse. I always remember it being bigger. Sign of the times I suppose. Hard to believe nowadays that the main stand was the only seats when I first went.

He always used to frustrate me the way he played.

went into a bric a brac shop today - dug out some football leasgue mag from 70-71 - picture of Ipswich squad in centre pages, and next to MickMills and Colin Viljoen (and Bobby Robson) was none other than Mick Hill without his tache. So he did exist. But did he really play for Palace?

He didn't score many goals, but he was a very good player.

I recall seeing his first appearance after he was signed by Malcolm Allison.

He was also an excellent tennis player.

I think he came out about suffering from depression at a time when few other players would have done likewise.

Sorry that he is no longer alive.

I worked with a Mick Hill at the Gas Board. Don't think he played for Palace, but perhaps he kept it quite. He was a very good chess player though.

I can confirm his existence. I too was there to see him play and along with Martin Hinshelwood, Bobby Bowry and Trevor Aylott rates as my worse players to wear the shirt!

Thank you CPFC2010 for keeping me interested in football, for me no Palace no football either. Come on you Eagles.

In around 1976, I was wasting an afternoon in the snooker hall that was near Thornton Heath Pond. In came most of the Palace team - after training I guess. I can remember Rachid Harkouk, who came across as a bit of a knob - asking some of the team if they would play the local snooker-shark for money. I remember that Alan Wittle was definitely there, but can't recall Mick Hill, so perhaps he did not exist after all. I'm pretty sure Charlie Cook was there, but hadn't he left by then? Perhaps another Scottish player.

I seem to recall that on his debut he ran out from the tunnel towards the holmesdale, dropped a ball just outside the penalty area & blasted it goalwards. I hit a young boy full in the face & broke his nose. Summed him up really.
