It's amazing how so many on these forums seem to be living in fear of other clubs getting promoted be it Brighton or otherwise. If we are relegegated next season or in any season in the future it will be because we won't have been good enough. We have proved that we are quite capable of holding our own in this league and although our recent loss of form is concerning it has got sod all to to with the bank balances of other Premiership clubs.

This season you are right in the sense Leicester won the league and Newcastle went down after big spending. Historically speaking, you are wrong. Money has a strong correlation with success and league position.

Btw I'm not living in fear and certainly not of the weed but i do see us battling relegation next year. So the more s*** teams, the better. Whether due to relative lack of money or other issues, I really don't care.

In light of tonight's result I just had to resurrect this thread as I love the title so much. Yet more good news from the South Coast to warm the cockles......

I actually thought both semi finals between these two were superb viewing. And definitely a great result. Was worried the Weed were going to do it in the first half but Sheff.Weds did some Palace style digging in for the last 45.

..Knockaert needs to have a look at himself, went off in the first game with what looked like a career ending injury putting his mates down to ten men then just turns up again two days later with not a problem in the world, he did a brilliant job in helping them lose so I'm hilariously happy about it but..............

The fact the Wednesday goal tonight should've been disallowed for a blatant shove makes it even more amusing

On hols on the Costa this week, where:

Mahou is 17 cents off per can in SuperSol, so is 42 cents a go.

A perfectly adequate Cava is 1.95 a bottle in Lidl and goes down a treat after an hour in the freezer.

The forecast is for 32 degrees and sunny tomorrow.

Palace are staying up,again.

Palace are in the Cup Final this weekend.

Brighton have blown it in the playoffs, again.

All is good and right with the world.

The pundit on Monday night said "Brighton have literally thrown the kitchen sink at Sheffield Wednesday in the first half".

I reckon chucking plumbing at your opponent could result in a hefty points deduction for next season.

I think its more spending power than money. Spending 80m is meaningless, its how much you can afford to spunk on wages (Spending 80m over the Summer on players isn't going to get you the best, not by a long shot, you have to be able to spend 150-250k per week to ensure that).

The big money clubs generally function well because they can afford to pay the kind of wages that attract the known best.
