Most including myself believe he could come in and put pressure on Zaha and Bolasie but it is very possible that it's Puncheons role under threat, playing behind the striker. All positive competition either way.

Fingers crossed for this one.

amazing news. mutch in the deal would be a godsend

The article in the Guardian refers to a swap deal with Mutch going the other way... I hope Dominic Fifield isn't just dreaming, that would be a great deal for us.

He's not dreaming.

I share the opinion that Redmond would grow substantially as a player, under Pardew & the lads, in CPFC colours.

I'm not sure that Pardew's expertise lies in improving players as I can't think of one who has increased in stature as a player under Pardew's tutelage

I know I gave the spiel about how i'm against raiding teams that go down however for Redmond - I would say yes. Purely on the fact he's young and english. ticks the boxes for me.

Whilst I think that Redmond would be a quality addition I still think we should be looking for an attacking midfielder who has the potential to score 10 goals a season as well. Although Punch scored a hugely crucial league goal against Norwich for us, that has been it, whilst Dann has scored 5 goals this season, the same as Yannick. In fact I think he is the highest scoring defender in the league, luckily for us.

My comment was that personally I feel that a goalscoring midfielder might also be a good addition. Goalscoring is an area we must address in the transfer window.

There is interest in a player from Div 1 whom I think has scored 15 goals from midfield but of course it is a step-up to the PL. I really don't think he will be with his current club next season.

Neither does his manager as he has already publically stated that.

football is a squad game now rather than a team game these days and Nathan Redmond would be perfect for us.

he should be at the top off our list and would also give yala and Wilf serious competition.

it's a big yes from me.

Completely agree, rather than saying bench player he should be looking at start 12.5 games per season.

Difficult to know if this is just a retread of the Guardian story, or whether post cup final it indicates more serious intent?
