I think of myself as English, British and European. Heaven forbid.

I'd go as far as Londoner. Anyone outside the M25 is dangerous and scary.

I quite like him. I wouldn't vote for him, ever, but one can definitely make a case that he's not trying to appeal to everyone or focused on PR and spin.

Also, he does kind of represent at least one stereotype of republican politics.

What disturbs me more is how Republicans who were venomous and attacking him, in the last year, are now lining up behind him.

That's how f**ked democracy is in the US. Its better to vote for someone you hate, than the other side win.

I'd vote for him. He's a good speaker and he actually makes sense. He's not trying to score political points which makes a nice change. All politicians in this country do is pander to the left and the ethnic vote, never mind the undecided or right wing working class who are simply forgotten about these days.
It's laughable all the people queing up to attack him, it makes him even more credible.
And what was all this nonsense about banning him from this country? Is free speech now dead or something? We seem to have form when it comes to this kind of thing, wasn't Geert Wilders banned because his views didn't fit in with trendy left wing orthodoxy. It's not sensible of Cameron to snub Trump as there is a very real chance he could be the next president of the U.S of A.

Well it was a lame attempt.

So when wouldn't you be proud to be British?

That might be more enlightening.

I question anyone who is proud of something that they haven't done themselves. I like being British, and I must admit that seeing a Spitfire flying over the English countryside make me teary eyed (My granddad fed the guys who flew those in the war).

I think its a dangerous weakness of character, to take more pride in things other people do, than things you have done yourself.

Its 60% white of which roughly 12% are non-British white. That's still by far the largest single ethnic denomination in London (the next closest is 6.6 which is British Indians).

So whilst that's different than the London of the past, its still a fact that the single most dominant ethnicity is White British (around 48% of London).

Now that does mean that over half of London is not White British, but then you'd need to account for the percentage of those other groups that did not regard themselves as British. I grew up around a lot of British Indians and they all regard themselves as British with ties to India and Kenya.

Don't believe every 'fact' you read. Some parts of London are much lower than that. The flats that I live in is probably about 20% white, half of those use English as a first language. Me and the missus are half of that.

Many people would also say they are English rather than British. I wouldn't put myself in the same bracket as the sweatys.

I don't think that Government in the UK panders to the left wing, on the basis that even when Labour was in power, they were politically on the right of centre, somewhere around the US Democratic party moderates.

Obama isn't for example left wing. The only people who think he is, are people who strongly engage in hyperbole politics, pandering to fear politics.

I think a lot of people who are inclined towards the right, tend to regard the left as anything that's not right wing.

As for the ethnic vote, well the job of political parties is to represent all citizens, and I think its hard looking at the make up of both Labour and Conservative parties to see it as being 'very ethnic or gender representative'.

I'm not really sure about how political parties are pandering to the ethnic vote either.

I too have shared a platform with Muslims, quite possibly extremists who regularly demanded money off me and would just give me back a worthless piece of paper. Sadly they no longer let you stand on the back of the 119.

Fortunately Trump is a very nice man, nothing to worry about there.

Seeing as how you are so well informed, and he is the Mayor of London, you could at least spell his name right. Do you know who the Mayor of Croydon is by the way? Better not look that one up, I fear for multiple blood vessels.

That's just hysterical b0ll0cks mate. I'd worry more about your own blood vessels there.
You shared a platform with Muslims? Are you some sort of activist or something? You must feel very righteous. I haven't even shared a park bench with a Muslim. Nothing against them, it just hasn't happened.

The cockney's left the east end.....More Bangladeshis there than white British now. The culture of London is more a generalised foreign mess than ever before.

Basically this country is fecked.

How can you possibly back that up? It sounds like you don't regard them as English more than the other way around.

I don't really understand genuine national pride. I like familiarity and a sense of belonging to some extent but national pride is akin to religion. It is largely illogical.
Equally I don't really understand the desire to cosy up to foreigners to ease some guilt trip hangover or feel all moral and multicultural.
It's all part of the same nonsense.

Why is 'the flats where I live' more representative than numbers you don't like?

And some parts are much higher, that's how percentages work. Its always been that way.

I'm British, because that's the passport I hold. I worked in Glasgow for a few years, and my experience, is that Scots, like the Welsh and the English, are basically comprised of people who don't care about nationality, except for sports, people who really don't care, and some people who take it all a bit to seriously.

I think its important to separate as Welsh, Northern Irish, Scottish and English, because its kind of fun to take p1ss. Lets face it, without national rivalry Rugby would be even more boring.

In my opinion, around 40% of people are c**ts, the other 60% don't realise they're c**ts.

Well that was a very different Britain to the one we have today.
I actually served this country for eight years of my life, I was once proud to be 'British', however our national identity has been eroded by years of politically correct BS, the selling off of industry (both Tory and Labour), mass immigration and the giving away of powers to un-elected bellends in Brussells. It's like watching an old friend die.
I would now consider myself English, not British and certainly not European.
