I question anyone who is proud of something that they haven't done themselves. I like being British, and I must admit that seeing a Spitfire flying over the English countryside make me teary eyed (My granddad fed the guys who flew those in the war).

I think its a dangerous weakness of character, to take more pride in things other people do, than things you have done yourself.

Well that was a very different Britain to the one we have today.
I actually served this country for eight years of my life, I was once proud to be 'British', however our national identity has been eroded by years of politically correct BS, the selling off of industry (both Tory and Labour), mass immigration and the giving away of powers to un-elected bellends in Brussells. It's like watching an old friend die.
I would now consider myself English, not British and certainly not European.
