Ok, maybe I shouldn't assume your a left winger, but at the same time you know absolutely nothing about me or my life experiences. I hold my views for good reason and if I feel passionate about it then so be it. I read books all the time thanks and am very well educated so I don't need someone to talk down to me and say that I'm poorly educated and 'need to read more books'.
Out of interest do you ever stop and ask yourself why you hold your views?
I agree that name calling is stupid and I take back what I say, however as you don't expect to be stereotyped for your views, I don't expect to be stereotyped for mine either.
Either way no hard feelings and like I said, I take back what I said in terms of name calling towards you, but certainly not the other fellow who has been pretty abusive towards me and rather patronising.

I just really think you should perhaps take a step back sometimes and have a think about what you believe, whether you could change views you have been challenged on.

I often try to revise my views in light of better information but by no means am I a saint.

I'm sure you're not a bad bloke by any stretch just think you should understand your own views to a better extent, read things from the opposing side of view for example, or unbiased papers. Not saying they would change yourr view, but they would place them in better context.

In reality, had you read more closely about this subject you would not have started this thread, you wouldve looked at the detail of this paper, and who it was written by an understood it was fundamentally nonsense as has been shown by a few on here. See what I mean?

I take what I read in the papers with a pinch of salt, however with most fiction it tends to be built around an element of truth. I merely posted it to see what people think whilst throwing my own views in.
I do listen to other people's point of view and on the whole am pretty tolerant, it's just when people just dismiss it out of hand and get personal about it-not saying you did that BTW-it's very easy to get dragged into a slanging match. I am a person who, even when wrong will not admit it and defend myself-again not saying I'm wrong or right on this.
I feel quite strongly about the influx of people from the middle east. No it isn't down to racism, it's down to my experiences of serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and coming across and meeting people from this region first hand. The problem is that a lot of these people have a totally different culture to ours. They won't change their culture for us nor should they expected to, but at the same time I don't think we should have to bend over backwards to acommadate them. I just think that unchecked immigration is reckless and politicians who should no better have opened pandora's box.
I fear for my son and the kind of world he's going to grow up in.
Maybe my view comes across as ignorant but I don't think they are. I don't blame people wanting to come here and make a better life for themselves, I really don't, but this open borders policy is foolish and reckless IMHO.

With all the countryside concreted over for houses and wildlife all but extinct, I imagine life won't be worth living Dan.... whatever age you are.

Still, if that's the life you want with your immigrant-fueled booming economy all living on top of one another, vote Remain!

Lots of people coming to London epsecially are from other parts of this country. E.g. graduates for grad roles, or artists, actors etc.

The whole economy is so London centric and there arent enough opportunities in the rest of the country.

This is part of the housing equation.

To blame immigrants is missing a large portion of the point.

To not blame immigrants is like catching pneumonia and not blaming the fact that you went out in a blizzard all night without a coat on.

You really could do with reading more books and having more of an open mind. Frankly by your childish name calling, you look incredibly foolish (if you hadn't done that already).

Anyone who doesn't conspire to your backwards view of the world is not inferior or some loony left wing liberal. I hope one day you and your moronic view get shown up in public to really force you to think about your views and why you hold them.

Do you ever stop and think to yourself, OK, why do I hold this view? On which principles of philosophy do I agree / disagree with this statement.

Go and read some books, better yourself.

End of the day FUE, we're all Eagles, no one wants to cause you harm or embarassment just thinnk you could do with thinking through what you say (type).

And it was this philosophy that prompted you to dismiss the views of multi-millionaire Peter Hargreaves, the co founder of Hargreaves Lansdown, our largest IFA company in the UK on the basis that he was an old man, so his views don't count?

I suggest you do a bit more wider reading my "enlightened" friend.

As I said before... maybe study elephants and their reliance on the oldest herd members to guide them to water holes in times of extreme drought.

Or alternatively continue to bore us with your unfounded opinions about how the economy works from your narrow perspective as a young person with little experience of living and giving others lessons you could learn from yourself.

Its actually not the fault of immigrants; it may be the fault of immigration policies etc, but to blame immigrants, is to sidle down a slightly more prejudicial path.

Migrants themselves aren't the problem. They're just generally taking advantage of a situation (and being exploited in the process).

I blame anyone and everyone that is driving the need for us to continually keep building houses plus the associated necessary infrastructure, which results in our country no longer resembling a green and pleasant land, but a concrete jungle that is oppressive to live in and has no time or room for wildlife.

Anyone that grew up in the 50's/60's can see that our country has changed for the worse with the introduction of millions of immigrants under various governments since then, but mostly under Blair's and Brown's regime from 1997 to 2010, when they even waived our right to defer Polish people coming here for 7 years like Germany did, so all the Poles came here.

There is now too much pressure on the demand for houses here and it will continue to be so, if not worse, if we remain in the EU... especially when Turkey gets full rights.

Outer London will be like Dhaka in Bangladesh... hundreds sharing one toilet, living in shoddy huts.

Luckily I will be long gone, but I fear for anyone living here then.

Especially that darned NHS keeping people alive longer and improving childbirth success rates - it's just not on.
