The Spammers are going stateside this weekend. If he isn't on the plane I would say that something is in the pipeline. Great signing if true and with Mandanda and Townsend over the line we are really looking in good shape. Get the spine of the team strengthened with a quality striker and attacking central midfielder and we will be very strong, although I think the last one may not happen due to finances.

We desperately need a creative midfielder, it does not matter about strikers we have them, we need someone that can create chances for the strikers, and that is something we have not had over the last few seasons.

Saw something last night where someone was reported to be saying the deal wasn't done yet and if / when it gets done it will likely be for a lower figure than reported in the mail, apparently WH turned down offers of 9 million a little while ago, if any of that is true it could be an exiting couple of days.

We already have Cabaye so maybe its more a question of playing him in that role, rather than as a DM? Which might mean bringing in another DM like Bentaleb from Spurs with whom we have already heen linked?

Wickham gets injured a lot and I wouldn't call Campbell a striker. So who are the strikers you think we have?

Do you know the best thing about this one? I know loads of Wet Spam blokes, they have gone from F@@k off it will never happen, to now saying Crystal F@@king Palace WTF? They are all getting so wound up by it. Even if JT doesn't join thanks for the comedy value.

I think it would be a good deal. He is laxed positionally but hes good on the ball and great in the air, especially attacking. We will pretty much have 2 scott Danns in the box from that perspective.
