Great idea. Lets exhume Johnny Byrne while we're at it.

Apparently he's closer to full fitness than Connor Wickham.

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

You say that, but we had to spend £30m in an attempt to replace him with a like-for-like player.

Oh, by the way that was after wasting £10m on Connor Wickham and God knows how many hundreds of thousands in wages on Adebayor.

You can also include joke loan signings like Sanogo and Bamford and wait a sec I almost forgot, doing more dough on the likes of the ineffective Campbell.

Before you all slaughter me how many of the names above would have scored as many goals this season for the Sussex mob as GM has?

I'll give you CB, but then for that cash it's a minimum expectation.

Wickham and Adebayour yes they probably would, possibly even Bamford given his history in the Champioship. I think we could have kept him another season but not beyond that.

I would take him back in a heartbeat - for depth.

Still plenty to offer - a sneaky "clever" sort of player, who comes alive at sets. Sets up the play well. Defends the box at corners and FKs. Better than any of the other Benteke cover at the club.

Great at Champiomship level, but (maybe due to injury) never made the step up. His time is past, let it go...

To suggest we have replaced like for like is utter nonsense.

We sold Murray for a decent price to another Premier League side and he hardly cut the mustard for Bournemouth.

Both Wickham and Benteke are better options up front and both have age on their side.

No doubt people will chuck a few stats about and point to his current form but we are in a far tougher division and currently scoring goals.

Time to let the past stay in the past.

Glenn just showed how to take a proper penalty - Brighton 2-0 up vs QPR...
