More wasting of police time. Probably an easy arrest I'd say, but surely Izzard could of said 'Listen I got my beret back, lets leave it here?'
( & why are these w***ers still protesting? Its a done deal move on)

Democracy and politics innit. UKIP and others have been complaining about EU membership since we joined the common market. Personally, I think they're missing the important point - that they need to now think about the future, as an exit is on (barring a general election with a anti-exit party winning - the UK is leaving the EU).

They shouldn't be so concerned about exit, but what that exit will look like - Which was always the most important issue overlooked in the whole process and one that increasingly it looks like we might not have a general election around.

Being part of the EU, or not part of the EU is largely irrelivent, what is important is what the UK will be without the EU.

Although I guess in the right circumstances and support, they could possibly create an environment for a second referendum (such as seeing a considerable swing of those who voted out joining).

We should have more referendums. We can learn something about democracy from them.

Agreed, but next time it ought to be about something insignificant or something we actually understand. Or of course something that won't divide opinion to the extent it'll lead to hatred.

I just realised I ruled everything out.

Isn't he allowing charges to be brought against a guy who ran off with his beret? What a shining example of a friendly, charitable and humble celebrity.

That will never happen I am afraid as the people have already spoken and we are getting OUT.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

So are you saying we shouldn't have a second referendum or further referendums, even if it has a strong democratic mandate?

I'd say, even as someone who voted out, that if a party went into a general election with a manifesto built around a second referendum, and won that election - then that I think would be grounds for a second referendum.

I also think its essential for the UK to have a general election based around manifesto's detailing the party policy towards UK post-EU.

I honestly think he's having some kind of mid life crisis. He used to be funny and admittedly a bit zany. Like most people though, when they become all about their politics and 'oh the nasty left', 'oh the nasty right' ad infinitum, they generally become delusional and unlikeable.

Depends, on how much of a c**t the bloke was, and how much the beret cost. Some people just encourage pushing the police to prosecute to the full extent of the law.

Yes in playing devils advocate, nutjobs have been arrested outside of Izzard's house previously and for threatening him in the street due to his appearance. After a while you'd probably get sick of that and want the police to act of any invasion of your space if they happened to be around at the time.

Don't get me wrong, nicking someone's hat is a bit off. I'm just surprised Izzard didn't just think to himself "f**king outrage, what kind of c**t nicks a woman's hat?" but bite his tongue for the good of his image (especially the image he seems to be trying to build at present). He shouldn't have to do that, that much I agree with, but sadly it makes him look like a bit of a diva if he doesn't put a stop to the bloke getting charged. In my opinion of course, not expecting anyone to agree.

Ok, this does alter things a tad. Sticking to my opinion and I will say as a caveat that despite my disliking for him, I certainly don't condone that. If I passed him in the street I'd not be rude. I see Caroline Lucas regularly and have actually smiled at her (one such time was a couple of days after the referendum so it felt a bit sarcastic!). But anyway yeah, I'd never be abusive to someone (unless sat at a computer keyboard of course!).
