In fact in the first two he's probably one of the most important influences in their history (Chomsky's linguistics work revolutionised computer languages as well as creating a scientific basis for linguistics and linguistically analysis.

Also one of the most published academics alive. But yeah, lets all focus on the fact he is a left wing social critic.
