THis is what my journo Spurs mate sent me re Mason. He has had a season ticket for 10 years and knows his stuff.

"Don't expect him to be a holding player of a midfield general. It's not his game and Spurs stuck a square peg in a round hole because we had no one else. He's a great athlete, needs a bit of freedom to be able to burst forward and support the attack. If he's given a run in the team and gets his touch back then he has a great range of passing, not shy in front of goal either. 5mil well spent if you are below the top 6."

That's a very useful and informative post. Sounds like Bentaleb is more the holding midfielder, releasing Mason to get forward and link with Zaha and Bolasie. Seems Spurs are listening to offers for Bentaleb, and maybe Mason too

We should act fast on these two before other clubs become interested and prices sky rocket.

Pretty much what I have also heard regards Mason.
Also heard that he is a very creative player who can play out wide, just behind the striker and up top if necessary although this is not his primary position.
Quick and can turn defence into attack in an instant.Tottenham through and through - supported them as a young kid !

He went on 'Loan' to Swindon a couple of years ago signed by Mark Cooper. At Swindon at the time there were a few players with Tottenham connections :
Grant Hall and Mark Pritchard were also on 'Loan' from Tottenham and there were players signed from Tottenham ie, Nathan Byrne, Jack Barthram and Massimo Luongo.

Exactly what we need - confident on the ball and can find a pass.

Get him and Mason I say...and Son if he's unhappy

That would definitely help us make the transition from Jedi, Ledley and Punch (i'm not suggesting we get rid of these 3 just that we must plan for the inevitable).

Add Lewis Cook from Leeds to this and we'd have a much stronger and composed looking midfield - exactly what we need and would improve Wickham and Gayle no end.

Midfielders Out - Lee and Mutch

Good post - agreed!

It's an upgrade on Mutch and Lee so would be a good signing if it comes off.

I know it's only YouTube but these two would improve our quality in possession no end.

More rumours of the same: £15m for the two would be a definite upgrade and for today's silly values, good value for money. Cautionary note: bot coming back from serious injury

So we are going for "Fringe" players who are both coming back from serious injury.
Many on here were talking about "Big name" signings !

Tis all but rumours Willo.

There's no solid links to any of the 20 players we've been linked with so far...but it's just enough to keep us going until the Euros kick off.

Bentaleb is class. Remember him running the game against us at selhurst a couple years ago. Would be a great player for us i reckon.

I'll take fringe players from most of the top 5 or 6 clubs.

Some good stuff warming their benches that would improve us no end.
