All this talk about the audience being old codgers when Chas and Dave themselves are both in their seventies.

I saw them at the Brighton Dome well over 35 years ago when they were supported by a young aspiring Chris de Burgh

I do hope you were trying to impress a young filly by going to a Chris De Burgh concert

Chas Hodges was in the Tornados in the early '60's having a long running No1 hit Telstar in 1962.Fairly sure it was the first UK record to top the charts here and the US at the same time.Simon Jordan backed the film about Joe Meek the composer/producer of this record.

Its a pretty good film as well. Granted it was financial suicide, as it was never going to make money. But it was pretty good.

Meek was regarded as the British Phil Spector. Ironically both of them have murdered people.

Actually had the pleasure of visiting Meek's old studio once to collect a reverb machine that Pulp wanted to use. Back then, about 15 years ago, it had been kept as it was. Apart from a lack of young boys

As was Jimmy Page. Many a musician cut his teeth in Holloway Road.

Talking of the Tornadoes, Clem Clattini, drummer of said band, holds the record for appearing on more UK top 10 hits than anyone else.

More than simon cowell? I heard he used to hit a triangle once per song just to get the rights for the number 1.

I discriminate against the band that sang Some Girls Will. Does that make me Raceyist?
