I would assume because France are still in the competition and they don't want deals announced before hand. Much the same way as Batshuayi won't be announced a Chelsea player whilst Belgium are still in the euros.

Funny that as soon as it was announced Townsend and Mandana were coming to Palace, suddenly Benteke is interested (if you believe the press). Regardless, the fact that we got these two strongly seals the deals on other positions we want. This is great news - and not on the last day before the season starts too!

Now we need: a boss defensive midfielder to upgrade from Jedi, a replacement for Delaney, another Mcarthur that's 6ins taller and 50lbs heavier, and someone like Benteke.
