Well I think this is an inevitable consequence of the fact that the term fool has its origins in the term fall. A fool, originates as a form of Jester, who would entertain people by falling all over the palace, much to the joy of the people watching. As such the defining characteristic of a fool, is that they fall, well.

Similarly, a metaphor for love is both to fool and be stupid, but in a manner that's positive and pleasing.

As such, the associative origin of fool and fall create a very good half rhyme for a song line. But I think the lyricist, missed a point here, its not fools who fall in love, but falling in love that makes us fools.

I hope that clears up your question Nick.

Pickled onion is the king of vegetable snacks. I've experimented with other pickles, but none has come close to king.

I think I shall be having some pickled onions with my lunch today, and I'm planning to be bold, having both silver skins and more general onions.

In terms of odd, my work mates think its odd that I keep a towel, shower gel and deodorant at work - even though I don't run or cycle into work. I think its strange that people don't use showers at work. That said, in the past, I've kept a sleeping bag at work in case I missed the last train or bus home.

I feel like I have located the one subject that will unite the world. Pickled onions.Well, this forum anyway. No one has come in and had an angry rant about pickled onions yet. Let's remember this moment. Next time it all gets a bit political or religious just whip out a pickled onion based commentary.

Jamie, why do all superheroes wear their pants on the outside?

Would you believe that the origins of this lies in the strongmen of the 30s, who would typically wear pants over their tights, as a display of masculinity (apparently it symbolised Strength and Endurance in that era). Joe Shuster (the original Superman artist) was keen to make Superman as much of a masculine icon as possible, and so its trunks/pants over tights/spandex.

You still kind of see this in wrestling today - Trunks over spandex, which probably has been re-appropriated from the comic books.

Superman was the first costumed superhero (193 and as a result most of the following heroes were based on that formula.

Definitely more than 5.

My fiancee (well, my wife in 5 days time) eats pickled onions as a snack. When she used to house share, there always used to be a jar of pickled onions on her bedside table(/b) whenever I went over. The first Christmas we were together I wrapped up a £1 jar of pickled onions and popped them in a Christmas stocking for her. It's been an ongoing tradition ever since and I now do this for her every year.

Now THAT is romance.

Is her name Olive by any chance, and are you bald, somewhat grumpy and go by the name of Arthur, and is your brother-in-law a bus driver? PS give my regards to Jack, a personal hero of mine.

Dear Jamie,

I’m the best football in the world. I have a trademark for my initials and squad number but when I type it into Google Maps it comes up with Thornton Heath. How can I change it so that a picture of my beautiful face appears instead?

CR7, Lyon

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Boomtish!

Apparently origami is going through something of a revival according to a documentary I watched on Netflix last night, with a number of companies. This apparently has been driven by modern communication technologies putting groups and individuals into contact with each other, and making the sharing of 'how to' videos over social media.

There is no greater honour in football, than being associated with Thornton Heath, and the mighty red and blue stripes of the titans Crystal Palace.

I suggest you should instead celebrate this, over your self interest you dirty frog eating federalist....

Shame on you Mr Gusset, beaten to the punchline by Part Time James, and with a more topically relevant reference.

Must try harder 6/10.
