It's through Croydon council. They're still responsible for educating kids even if not in school. of the ones I'm teaching, 1 can't attend school as she has cancer. The others have been excluded. The tuition is part of gradual reintegration to the mainstream.

That said I am looking towards private tuition. Can get around 30 quid an hour.

As for the strike fund, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to qualify so really it's a total myth that all teachers get paid regardless.

No one said all teachers get paid but you put "Teachers are on strike annoy parents and lose a days pay to do so" which implies all of them lose a day's pay. You've just confirmed otherwise.

Nit picking. Greenwich Nut have over 2000 members. Not one has applied for hardship / strike payment.

I'd imagine that less than 0.0001% nationally have done so, I was told it was less than that last time.

Not in the 'we are striking for more pay ' sense.

The strike is about cuts to education funding. Overtesting of children leading to the demise of a broad and balanced curriculum and leading towards teaching to the test. People say they want children to have a good all round education that readies children for life after school. All we are doing is filling them with facts. No room for developing critical thinking skills and problem solving in primary schools now. A national disgrace.

Teacher's do not go on strike for any reason other than pay or working conditions, they certainly don't do it for the sake of the children.
