What was the name of that Bulgarian defender circa 2010/11? Wanted him! Wanted Nico Vaesen as well, but we desperately needed him!

But it should work both ways as the loanee should benefit us as well as the loaning club. There are big clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea that probably have a dozen or more players that can't get into their first teams but would happily slot into most other Premiership sides.

Seriously, yes they can work, but I'd prefer that it be a last resort, at the end of the window, when all else has failed.
