Does filming post incident actually help here or provide any evidence to what occurred?

Wouldn't you try and stem the flow of blood instead of getting your phone, opening facebook, setting up a live stream and then filming it.

To be fair, if the cop just shot her boyfriend as she suggested in the film then I wouldn't have moved a muscle.

A strange attitude.

What I would like is film of what actually happened rather than seeing what transpired after the event.

She tell's us what happened. I believe her 100%. Cop doesn't deny what she is saying either.

I reckon he (the cop) just got confused about what to do/procedure and shot five bullets into him out of panic. Maybe they had run out of doughnuts in the local shop and he was pissed off too?

There were two legally-held guns there. And it was the guy in the uniform that appears to be the one that shouldn't be allowed near one.

Most US Cops have body cameras which are activated as well for evidential use.

So you want to judge it on the basis of her say so alone and with no context?

I also reckon the cop got trigger happy when he realised they a gun on board.
A total waste of a life but sadly inevitable in a country obsessed with guns.

But she did move a muscle, as you can see in the video. You wouldn't have thought that she would ask the police if she can help him?

Hopefully the police did have cameras on.

The footage has been viewed millions of times, so it's certainly served a purpose in making people pay attention to this sort of thing - incidents like this are so easily swept under the carpet when there's no footage/evidence to support the story.

The officer in the video was telling her to keep her hands where they were, so helping the victim wasn't really an option.

Has it helped or provided any evidence?

How many people have viewed it is neither here nor there in terms of serving a purpose, unless it is clearly showing what happened in it's entirety.

Which would explain shooting him, prior to physically restraining to the point he couldn't pose a threat.

Context is important. Shooting restrained prisoners is a crime, even in a warzone. When the representative of state authority of the use of force undertakes that role, its vital for the safety of citizens, that force is proportional to the situation not to their personal prejudices or fears.

I can see shooting being justified prior to physically engaging the suspect and restraining him. Shooting him once restrained, is an execution (not to mention the danger it could pose to the officers restaining him).

Its also relevant that in such a situation, the use of pepper spray, batton or taser would have been justified. Lethal force, certainly not.

They did taser him. They tried non lethal force first. It failed. I gotta say... If I was a copper, and I tasered a dude with a gun, and he still kept fighting... I'd probably shoot him.

But that is exactly the purpose it's served - you now have millions of people aware of the incident, and that makes it much more difficult for it to be swept under the carpet.

I'm not sure exactly what point you are trying to make? How she chose to react having watched her boyfriend be shot 5 times by a police officer, doesn't at all change the fact that he was shot 5 times by a police officer.

Are you deliberately ignoring the facts, or have you just not watched it?

He was restrained, and they shot him - 'kept fighting' is just not true.

It makes no difference that millions of people are unaware of what happened and only know the aftermath.

That it's a very strange reaction to start filming and commentating as she did when something like that has just happened, with her daughter at the scene.

I'm not disputing that he was shot by the police, but we have no context of the incident from the footage.

I have watched both videos. The officer shouts he has a gun, both officers instantly reach for their guns. I can't see what his arm is doing, but if u watch the video both cops reach for their guns at the exact same time... To me this indicates a gun came in to view.
If you carry a illegal gun, threaten to shot someone then reach for it while resisting arrest... I think you can't complain if ya get shot.
