We've been linked to Benteke, Berahino, Sissoko and we've sold Gayle but we have retained Campbell. Now we've been linked to Sako from West Ham. Are we a club at the end of the food chain? Getting a little concerned now.

All is not lost - at least we haven't got the following striker:

Of course we are....

We aren't Man United, City or Chelsea
We aren't Southampton, Everton or Liverpool
We are in the third tier...

..exactly, and we already have enough goals in this team to survive the coming season, need to really concentrate on the stadium now because this is far more important.

Plenty of time to go, but there will be disappointments on the way and we will find ourselves losing out to other clubs in the transfer market. And not necessarily just to the big name clubs.

Even if we can match the money offered by other teams the fact that we finished only just outside the relegation zone last season doesn't make us a great proposition as we will no doubt we will be seen as relegation candidates in many quarters.

A sub-standard ground doesn't help either. I am sure it gives potential signings an image of us being behind the times and unambitious. If you had the choice of working in a smart modern office or a portakabin, what would you choose?

I admire your optimistic view...

Funnily enough I do work in a portakabin and it's quite sh!te, but I wouldn't change jobs just because of that.

Don't agree wth that. We have just 1 starting striker right now, as Campbell has been a bench sub at best

Yes and why not as we are perpetual relegation candidates only escaping last season by the skin of our teeth.

Perhaps we can compete with the clubs that were promoted to the Premiership this season but I haven't seen us linked to any players that the new clubs are interested in (with the exception of the media generated hype)

Agree with that. We are trying to bring in a top level striker and that is bringing us in competition with most of the PL. We have already brought in 3 xxellent players. Plenty of time to go and no need to panic.
