I want to believe... But part of me thinks, its Lance Armstrong all over again etc... Fortunately another part of me remembers its Athletics so I don't care, if they're 'drug cheats' or not. Even the cheats are pretty f**king impressive in their fitness and commitment.

In much of the track and field it is probably a question of being stupid enough to be caught rather than who is clean.
Most sprint world records have been achieved by proven cheats, so it is reasonable to speculate that the others are questionable as well.

If guys down the loacal gym are happy to do "roids" to look good then someone as obsessed with winning as an Olympic athelete will surely think nothing of it.
The cheats are usually one step ahead of the testers and it is not in the interests of the IOC to expose the games as a farce.

You could also argue as it's invariably the richest and most powerful countries winning most of the medals, natural talent and endeavour won't win out on it's own if you find yourself born and bred in Albania (even Kosovo have won a gold).

absolutely. I'd never knock an athlete for this, I just scoff at the idea of the best in the world, by some distance, being clean, in a drug-riddled sport

La la la your mum
