I just looked up Pardew's stats at Newcastle - his second worse win ratio at 39% after Charlton at 31%. He's at 43% win ratio here - the best we've had for a while. So what I will concede is that Pardew's record at Newcastle was not great but it was not relegation standard - more like lower mid-table kind of standard. I guess after a few years lower mid-table does seem a little boring for a team as big as the Toon.

If you take out the outliers you'll get a better idea of his "normal" standard. So, omit the year we finished 5th and his worst year, what's his w%?

Interesting point and not one to be easily dismissed. As I've said before, I refuse to accept that the peak of his ambition in the January window was to just sign Adebayor. Parish appears to exert an iron grip on transfers irrespective of the managers wishes.

Which is how a chairman should run a football club, if you let a manager decide then I wander what would happen, Venebles, Redknapp....

As for Newcastle fans thoughts towards Pardew it really is bizarre.

They have the worse chairman imaginable and yet they constantly lay all blame at Pardews door.

That's just flat out not true.

What part of it is simply not true?

That you have the worse chairman or that you lay all the blame at Pards door?

Over 43% (could be a little more) which is reasonable enough in the Premier League. You may find it is the highest win ratio of any current English manager in the top flight (which is probably a little misleading). It's the kind of ratio you'd normally take. Pardew doesn't seem to ever go for draws though which skews it a little but that would be much harder to analyse - some kind of average points per game required. As I said before - despite this post - I'm not really a stato.

I was there, there was no booing. We went on to win the game 4-1. It may only be the championship but a wins a win. That's 2 in a row now, the same number that Pardew has had this calendar year.

Unlike my fellow supporter, I am here to gloat. You called us deluded when we said what an absolute charlatan Pardew was, he's one of us you said. You're very welcome to him. This is the man who played Marlon Harewood in favour of Carlos Tevez and wouldn't play Mascherano. Now he's gone I find him funny.

As for the 'grim up north' comment, I came down to your ground the last time we were in the championship. Beautiful area. I work in London from time to time, it's a god forsaken place, I can't wait to get out of there for my own safety to be honest.

Enjoy Pardew and Townsend. I really rate Townsend, great signing but Pardew will probably have him playing left back soon and he'll demand a transfer when you get relegated.

Last thing...were you at the match yesterday and were you booing?

Please, stop making numbers up. He's at 38% including all cup games, if you count only league games he's at around 36-7%, take out the outliers (best and worst seasons) and he's down to around 33%.

I'm afraid that most Palace posters on this forum aren't very bright and "deluded" is a word that many of them seem to apply to anyone and everyone who isn't a Palace supporter although many of them also apply the term to a fellow Palace fan who doesn't agree with them

Again the "grim up North" is symptomatic of idiots looking for an insult and not caring whether it's true or not.

I'm a Southerner who spent six years living on Tyneside and appreciate what a great place it was (except for the weather) and I would much rather live in the grim North that in the dump that surrounds SE25

I still have some Geordie friends who all told me what to expect from Pardew when we first signed him and almost every word has come true.

You only have to read the recent threads here to see that most of us believe that we won't get anywhere whilst AP is our manager and whilst it's true that Newcastle have won as many League matches in the last week as we have won in the whole of 2016 we don't like being reminded, especially when the goals are being scored by someone who many believe AP shouldn't have sold

Pardew will lose the next game or two, then he'll get a win and a draw and he'll say it's due to him, great signings or tactical nous. The Palace fans will again be duped, then he'll lose 6 on the bounce and the cycle will go on. Make no mistake, we would have been relegated if Pardew had stayed, he was on an abysmal run of results prior to the win on his last day.

Some idiot on here keeps telling Newcastle fans to man up. It's quite comical when you then read palace fans saying 'we can't get anyone better'. What a bunch of saps. You're in the premier league with more money than any other league in the world.

You will go down with Pardew in charge. We didn't criticise him for no reason, it was because he was a liar, an egotistic coward....on top of that he was an absolute hopeless football manager.

I would rather be in the championship with a little bit of hope than be in the premier league with Pardew as manager. The losing runs out stretching the winning runs and hopeless football with a Mish mash of tactics.
