Woman rescued 3 times in 4 days

It was that episode stuk. I am Not someone who cries at things often especially not on tv but the part where they showed the recovery of some one who had jumped.. well it's haunted me. You know it happens but seeing that has done something to me . It was remarkable how they deal with those incidents. I never really thought about who had to recover those but for it be done by volunteers, who have signed up primarily to save people and not put them in bags, is above and beyond. I had assumed it would be specially trained recovery teams, as I assume it is when a train incident occurs. There's been 3 more incidents today. A diver died in Cornwall, a teenager in the sea at Sunderland and another teenager is missing in the Surrey part of the Thames.

I watched mouth open speechless for the duration of the programme. As I said previously I cannot swim so the whole thought of it scares the crap out of me. Amazing.job they do and an absolute scandal they rely on volunteers and donations. I can't comprehend the danger of somewhere like the Thames if I am being honest. Always imagined you would be spotted and some one would jump in baywatch style and swim you back to land if you ended up in the Thames. Been a real eye opener

Never too late to learn! Normally it's the fear of the water that takes away that initial breath when someone finds themself in it. Even learning to just not panic and float on your back can earn you a fair bit of time. My brother in law can't swim and felt pretty useless when his kids floated off too far in a dinghy on holiday, leaving my dad to do the rescue.
