That's actually rubbish, if the bookies list something at 1/6 they know something

Would be an amazing deal with a view to buy at the end of loan

The bookies got it totally wrong over Brexit.

Funny, I have never met a skint bookie and I've met a few. And yes, many of them pay for information the same as journos do. Its not illegal and can actually give them a head start on the punters

Bookies never "get it wrong".

They only offer an interpretation of chance...not a yes/no option. Even if a 5000/1 event comes off (a la Leicester), the bookies are acknowledging in their odds that it might happen, even though unlikely. Equally, appealing odds (e.g. 1/6 on a transfer) do not suggest it is certain, just that its is likely.

I worked in a bookies for a while and the amount of researchers they have on the books to stay ahead of the punters is mind numbing.

Ex-English International.

He's NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO longer apart of the English National team. Why??? Because of the injuries. He's NEVER healthy. That's a risk We can't afford.

Agreed. I think he could thrive at a smaller club, under less limelight.

Really wish he wouldn't fall over every time one of the opposition challenge him though!

If he is on loan where is the risk?
If he gets injured we send him back.
In terms of risk/reward I don't see how we can lose.

Milan will expect him to slot in immediately and the Rosenerri will be right on his case if he isn't mustard immediately.
It will be a high pressure move. That isn't to say he wouldn't prefer a move abroad but what I am saying is I believe if the package Palace can put together is attractive to Arsenal there is no reason I can see why he wouldn't want to come to us.
He should ask Astley Cole which club he preferred playing at Palace or Roma

JW has a young family, for him to move to Milan for one season seems illogical. JW will prefer to stay in the BPL.

Wheres the risk in a loan deal? Or would you rather us stick with Mutch. Wilshere a great player and would put competition for cabaye, which would lead him to improve.

I've worked as an odds compiler and in-play trader for the past 7 years for three high street bookies and assure you that these football specials markets (transfers, next manager etc) are influenced by news reports and weight of money, very little else.

This paranoia that the bookies somehow get inside info is bizarre and a complete nonsense. The closest we get to inside info is profiling our customers and reacting quickly when a bet comes in from one who has a good track record in that type of market.

These types of markets are consistently the least profitable for us as usually the majority of money taken is from people who do in fact have some sort of info.

It takes very little from a betting perspective to move the prices. For example, earlier after I saw the Jack Wilshere/AC Milan link in this thread I had £15 on him at 33s with Betfred as he was loads shorter everywhere else, a couple of minutes later the price moved.

Cannot emphasise enough that you shouldn't put faith in bookies odds for these markets, they are very rarely an accurate representation of the actual chance of it happening.

Our this years Patrick Bamford.

If Wilshere (big IF)stays healthy and plays well he will get recalled by Arsenal. But if he doesn't play well we get to keep this turd burglar much like Marouane Chamakh who could never stay healthy. Not stating Chamakh never contributed, but he was NEVER HEALTHY.
