I agree with your last point.
Sky sports just said Benik Afobe at Bournemoth is Jack Wiltshire's child's godfather (can't really compete with that!)

They are good mates from when they were both Arsenal youngsters.

For me this is the best window I've seen from Palace. Compare the quality we brought in compared to Holloway's sh*tshow, Marange anyone?

Our midfield needs something creative,, that is the problem
Without anything happens there, I don`t think it is so very positive window

If you supported us when we first came up you'd see a gulf in class from who we've signed this window compared to the first. As a club we are moving upwards but Rome wasn't built in a day. Us older fans have more patience.

My biggest concern is our lack of defenders. We've let pretty much all of our back up CB's go and have only Kelly and Tomkins/DD (depending on first choice) as back up. I think the fact that Hangelaand and Mariappa both had to play a couple of games for us last season tells us everything. Kelly "once was a CB". I think the majority of full backs are or were wingers and it didn't work in that position. Tomkins I've heard is great but he's still unproven for us. Worrying times when Dann or Damo has an issue and God forbid they both do at the same time.

We're the Arthur over ere!

I'm so disappointed with this window. I mean we've only signed five players who could all possibly slot into our starting 11 ffs. Why aren't we spending our money more appropriately, perhaps on three or four fringe talents???

"Here's Gayle! IT'S THREE - THREE! ASTONISHING!"

Totally. I saw a clip today of the team that beat Sunderland in our first season in the prem. That team had Dickagoi, Gabbidon, Moxey I think and a number of others. The gulf between then and now is crazy.

Plus players like Marange & Kebe. How we stayed up is a mystery.

Who was that player half way on their way to Brighton but changed their mind half way through.

It was probably the thought of the Blackwall Tunnel every morning that sent him to the Sourh Coast

I know AP seems pleased with the work done but if nothing else changes is it really that goo a window for us?
Of the 25 man squad that has had such a woeful run in 2016, 7 have gone (either released or sold for a combined total of approx £43 million) and 5 have come in for about £50 M.
We have obviously (in my opinion) brought in greater quality with the front 2 and in the worse case like for like with Mandanda, Townsend and eventually Tomkins.
No creative midfield player...? No replacement for Jedi?.... 2 bodies lighter in an under performing squad?
Have we done enough?

I don't think Mandanda and Townsend are like for like, I believe they are an improvement on what we have.I haven't seen enough of Tompkins but he was very popular with the hammers fans.
Overall for me it's been an unbelievable window and with all the comings and goings we've spent a comparatively small amount on transfer fees.

I think your kind of missing the discussion point.
What we have got and what we need are 2 different things.
No creativity in midfield will stifle the obvious quality we have invested in up top.
What will we be able to do with what we have to change a game if it's not going well?
Unless your thinking putting a "10" on Mandandas back and hoping he can pull the strings for us going forward?

Just under four & half hours to go. Of course Pardew's going to say he's happy to not bring anyone else in, look desperate get ripped off.

I'll judge the window fully on my commute to work tomorrow when I catch up. Bit knee jerk this thread.
