England v Palace - I'd put some money on it being a 0-0.

I'd guess top 6, possibly top 4 with few injuries. Could possibly win a cut though!

Obviously they would struggle against West Brom and any other teams who park the bus.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Not gonna try and defend England here but how many of the Portugal side would get into top prem sides?

Ronaldo is the obvious one, but him aside I would doubt not a single one. Eder who won it for them played once for Swansea and was useless.

10 years ago we had players that would walk into any side - Gerrard, Owen, Lampard, Rio, Terry, Cole, Campbell, Scholes etc. Did that make a difference to England's fortunes? Not a jot

So how valid is the initial question ?

When you think about it at all seriously the manager is probably one of the most important things. With Hodgson would probably be mid-table, relegated with McClaren, probably mid-table to lower half with Allardyce. Someone like Guardiola or Mourinho could possibly make them top 4 contenders.
I genuinely have no idea where Pards would get them - I guess perhaps mid-table.
