So the police are deciding what people can wear to a football ground? Next thing you know some country will be banning people wearing certain things to a beach.

I wonder how their voices carry whilst chanting for Palace when they've got their faces covered?

I wasn't there and do not condone violence, but several things don't add up to me. They make a point of saying it was a reduced police presence, no dog teams, no horses, no helicopters sounds to me like they are angling for more people and more overtime, then they say they had good intel control and surveilance, but not a single picture of any fighting and no one arrested ? Just my conspiracy theory

This is a nothing story!!! None of those pictures look particularly threatening. I'm pretty sure if several officers were actually assaulted there would have been arrests. The police hour? Someone has got a cushy job writing that blog.

Found this on policehour's (media co) about page:

"We are about supporting the thin blue line. We don’t pull people down we try and focus on the positives we do however stay balanced and always promise to tell you the truth.

We will tell you news that may be controverisal, it will be balanced & not sensationalised."

yeah, right.

Don't think anything happened the police looked very organised with containment especially at the train station from what I gathered lots of coordinated movement from the police to avoid flare ups.

Like anything the true story isn't clear. I can categorically confirm that when approaching the ground with my boy a load of boro chavs were chanting about the fanatics (nothing about palace) basically calling for a fight. 'Fcuk off the holmesdale' was one chant. Now, to me this was unprovoked but for all I know there may have been some trouble earlier in the game.

After the game the fanatics had a police escort to the station. There were some minor scuffles but nothing major. Put it this way, I had my six year old with me. Had I thought he was in danger I'd have held back but it wasn't awful by any means. The fanatics immediately after the game and on the concourse weren't spoiling for any fights, there just wasn't that atmosphere.

I get the 'they don't help themselves' comment with their dress but Jesus, is that what it's going to come to, that we advise fans what to wear. I also saw no faces covered up amongst them, but again that was a snap shot in time. They're no angels but there wasn't anything outrageous from what I saw yesterday.

This, no place in football for fans dressed in black, complete drivel.
