Five Fields in Chelsea has an impressive veggie menu, as does Restaurant Gordon Ramsey and The Green House. Pure Vegetarian best bet would be Vanilla Black. Down a notch Grain Store at KX or Nopi in soho

I did notice they offer a vegetarian tasting menu which is rare but will save that £75 for a bigger occasion.

There's some really good veggie indian restaurants just about Euston (Drummond Street), which isn't really south/south east London I suppose! Bonnington Cafe in Vauxhall is a top eat as well.

Cheers for the recommendations. My son is getting fed up with the same old veggy options in many places.

Now for a bacon sandwich!

not a restaurant but a cafe... a decent one tho - it's called the wholefood cafe and its in streatham just off the high street opposite the white lion pub.
If you are looking in central london there's a pretty good one called vantra which is right next to tottenham court road tube station. It serves an all you can eat buffet for about a tenner.
Then if you want vegan cakes head to greenwich on saturday or sunday as there's about 3 or 4 stalls that sell vegan cakes plus a few others that sell vegan food too.
Or try this search engine (heyvegetarian.co.uk) to find a veggie restaurant anywhere in the uk

hope you and your lad find somewhere decent to have a tasty meal...
