Is it really worth the hassle of forging £5 notes?

Probably. 20's and 50's have a reputation for being checked, but things like 5's and pound coins are also more likely to be usable in things like vending machines etc which are easier to fool in many ways.

The reality is, if I was going to create moody money, I'd go with smaller currency. Its easier to pass and less likely to be checked thoroughly.

I'd have thought pound coins are where its really easy to get away with counterfeiting money

10s and twentys are easy to lose at places like programme sellers and burger stands, obviously not at Palace as that would be stealing from the club!
We went to Ibiza on a stag do a few years ago and got rid of over 5 grands worth of moody 50 Euro notes, all going well then 2 of them got nicked giving them to the cabby on the way to the airport , 3 days in cells, although they told their wives it was 5 and had 2 days at Bora Bora beach.so worked out alright.

If you have a handful of pound coins it's more than likely you've got at least one fake.

Most laundered note is the €500 which was a f***ing daft idea to ever have in the first place.

Low values are faked, high values are laundered.

Canada had to scrap their $1000 bill because of that.
