People that diss other genres disappoint me... it is fashionable to say nasty stuff about Coldplay, Phil Collins, Simply Red, etc.... but the fact is they are all successful acts with a large following and deserve respect. Whilst it's fashionable, as you say, to take cheap pot shots at artistes from the past, the reality is that a number of them do still sell and appeal to new generations of listeners. That is the true mark of a great musician. As an example, the second biggest UK selling album of all time is still Abba's Gold that remains within current album charts.

They weren't my favourite band either, but I think they were trying to be a pop band with soul influences to appeal to a broad mass of people rather than soul aficionados like yourself Matt?

Grew out of the Manchester house scene I believe. Graham Pickering was behind them I think. I first heard them on the original Renaissance Sasha and Digweed mix cd.
