Yes my understanding is limit carbs not cut them out, try and cut out as much sugar and refined carbs as possible. Don't go down the low fat route as the foods have usually had an artificial sweetener added to improve the taste. Artificial sweetener is worse as the body thinks sugar is coming and it doesn't and it can lead to overeating. Think it was horizon where they have two teams of netball players identical drinks one normal one with artificial sweetener. The ones with the sweetener ate far more from the buffet afterwards .. my exercise of choice is the exercise bike other than walking. Don't have time for the gym and when I was properly into it I was doing 15miles a day on it and low carbing. In all seriousness I might start a weight loss and fitness thread on here. We can have a weekly weigh in and keep track and try and motivate each other . I can't be the only one who needs to shape up

Artificial sweeteners are 'alien' to our bodies. We react by getting rid of them, eg storing them as 'fat'.
Diet Coke etc is the preferred drink of many a fattie as they think it'll out-way the large pizza they've just eaten when the truth is it'll only add to the problem. To be fair to them, they've been told that 'diet' is far better for them, by the authorities/cunds.
Have a large pizza, i do, but wash it down with proper sugar. Or beer.

Perhaps we should all just have a meet up, get our kits off, and get down and dirty. We could all lose weight at the same time?

Totally get what you are saying. It's like people who drink slimline mixers with spirits. Quite bizarre

Sugar without a doubt is my downfall. I don't drink fizzy drinks, barely (I mean a couple of times a year) drink alcohol, don't eat crisps, very little bread. I don't drink anywhere near enough water however and my consumption of chocolate is quite simply mindless and out of pure habit and boredom.

Only problem is it's mainly men writing on this post ... or are you trying to 'advertise your availability' :-)

Google how long you have to do on a bike to counter act a chocolate bar, easier to swerve the chocolate bar.
'A six pack is made in the kitchen, not the gym' is very true.

Oh I did believe me. On days where I found it hard and needed something sweet it was something like 45 mins to burn off a Mars bar . Madness

There's sugar in most stuff on offer today. It's not, with all due respect, as easy as that.
How popular were gyms back in the 60's/70's? Had anyone ever heard of them let alone need them?
No.
The rise in obesity coincides with the rise in sugar usage by the manufacturers for the past so many years.

I have no idea why but the last sentence inspired me to look up 'fun' facts about camels. If by your last sentence you are referring to point two of the attached then I suggest you seek medical help.
